Okay well my first fight is about to happen i'm not sure if i'm fighting june 24th or july 24th i don't remember what the lady said about weigh ins. Weigh ins are the same day as the fight right? I'm kinda nervous about the fight. Any advice going in? To calm the nervousness. To build my stamina up more before the fight. I'm most likely getting my friends to watch me and i don't wanna look bad.

Damn brooklyn, your first fight, I envy you man. Im sure you'll box his ears off. I believe the weigh in is usually a day before the fight, then you weigh in again before the but not sure. Probably the best way to calm the nervousness is to spar as much as you can from here out, besides that being a little nervous will give you an edge. Stamina, Im sure your in pretty good shape already, but if you really wanna build stamina, sprinting is probably the best way to achieve it, just be careful not to pull anything. Video tape the fight man, I'd like to see it. Good luck bud.
 Thanks i'll try to get someone to video tape it somehow. Stamina i have when my body feels like giving me it. I have off days and i have good days. Off days come more.
You better kill him Brooklyn! Don't forget you represent boxingforum.com.

Just stay focused and breathe calmly. It's natural to have some nerves but you don't wanna go in with a cluttered mind. Don't even think about your friends being there. Always believe that you can win the fight and never underestimate your opponent. If you go in with doubts then it could affect the way you fight. Just be confident and use your skills that you've been learning at your club. I'm sure you'll do well. Once the first fight is over then you wonder why you were ever nervous in the first place.

Good luck.
Thanks thanks. i never underestimate my opponent ever since my first spar when i got my nose bruised lol

Not necessarily. If you hurt your opponent and give him a standing 8 count then you win the round big time.

 Thanks thanks. The I don't think i'm working hard enough for this fight. If i'm not preparing myself good enough for this fight next fight i'll know what to do cause i'll expect what i recieved in my first fight. if i lose my fight its no big deal BUT i wanna win. I'll just have more experience from that one fight.

I have that same problem with good and off days, but when it's a good day, it truly is a very good day. Just hope your fight comes on a good day. When I had my fight I weighed in like 3 weeks before the fight to get my weight class, then on the night of the fight I weighed in again. My mindset going into my fight was that I worked out for 2 years very hard, and went threw a lot of pain just for that 6 minute time frame, so make it count. Try to remember your training and basic technique and defence. I forgot technique and such and wasn't as calm as usual, but still, try your best to relax. Throw combos, and if he's hurt bad, give 'em all you can dish out. Which what I forgot when I fought. I landed a good shot and didn't follow up.

Good luck and knock him out.
Thanks now i know to go all out cause i don't think its smart to go all out but then again the ref will stop it fast anyway so thats good. I'll try my best that day. Highly doubt i'll be calm. I'll give it my all and hopefully come down with 1-0 on my record.
Good luck in the fight man.
I'm no pro, but when it comes to staying calm, you just have to stay confident.
Your first fight just means they've never seen a dude like you before, and that you've got plenty of tricks up your sleeve for 'em.
And I highly doubt your friends will bring you down any, their cheering will get you even more pumped for the fight going in, and while in it.
Like I said, good luck.

Oh, and if you're hurt, throw back very hard. It can be the difference between a stoppage. Watch Holmes-Witherspoon in the 9th round. Holmes was hurt, but he threw back and turned the tides of the round, and the fight.
I'll check it out. Thanks. My fight is pushed back to be around august cause my trainer doesn't know if i'm ready. After august i'll be fighting every month. Trying to get ready for the golden gloves on a year and a half january i'd be on a year and a half.
[strike]i hope u get knocked-out cause i cant stand u ur a cocky lil prick.[/strike]

Please refrain from the personal insults.

Your cooperation is appreciated.
