 Some people in the hall of fame don't deserve it. Other's truly were good but had bad records. Heres just a few off the top of my head. Matthew Saad Muhammad, he had a bad record of 39 wins 16 lost and 3 draws. He wasn't that good. James J. Bradock (the cinderella man) was good with a bad record. His Record was 46 wins 23 lost 4 draws 11 no decions and 2 no contests. He truly was good but there was a point in his career when he was in a terrible terrible slump. Another one is James J. Corbet, he was good but only had 19 fights. His record was 11 wins 4 lost and 3 draws. If you have anyone else to add to the list please do name them.

Is there a site that would list who's in and what their records are?

Maybe IBHOF.com. Also look for a book called the boxing register 3rd edition, its from 2002 but it has all of the hall of famers up to 2002. It has a short biography on each of the fighters.

IBHOF / Roster of Inductees

That is the list of memebers from the HOF's official site.

Has anyone been to the HOF? It is cool but small & if you go almost any day of the year nobody is there.
But if you go during induction week in June it is unbelievable. I have friends from another site & a bunch of us take our vacation & meet there very June. Well last year was my 1st time but I plan on goin again.

The amount of fighters there is amazing & during the entire week they are all easily available. You can get pictures & autographs of everybody. If they are not hanging out on the HOF grounds they are across the street at the small sportsbar. There are a bunch of cool events & lectures etc

If any of you have the chance I suggest goin the second week of June its amazing.

Bill how close are you to the HOF? I flew out from California :dunno:

If we are still chatting on this board next year ,you should try & go. I have a group of about 8 or 10 of us that meet there yearly.

If you click this it has some pics from last year you can click "Next" on top right to view them. Erik & Michael Carbajal on Slide - Photo Sharing

Its the 2nd week of June every year. This years inductess should be Roberto Duran, Pernell Whitaker & Ricardo Lopez & a few others.

Last year I met a guy I think he was like the director of the Maryland state athletic comision. His last name was Pinela you know him?

No, but Larry Holmes should be inducted too. He retired in 2002 so this june is te first time he's able.
Holmes fought that stupid Butterbean fight in July of 02. So he will be eligible next year I believe. I think it has to be a full 5 years. So he will miss it by like a month or 2 . Probably be in the class of 08.( I may be wrong though)

Erik,

Pat Pinella is the dir. of the Md State athletic commission, and is one heck of a nice guy. He like other commissioners is a tough "by the book" guy which despite the promotors cries ,helps out the fighter with respect to protecting them as well as the fans. Pat is always looking out to make sure the bouts are competative and fair.As a matter of fact he did tell me about going to the hall of fame. I also do the auctioneering for him at a benefit sale that we do every year for Lenny Moore. He is a football Hall of famer from the old Baltimore Colt days.Last year we got ole Lou Duva to come out which was fun...He was great to talk to......
