BONSANTE TO FIGHT NOVEMBER 17th
According to Minnesotaboxing.com Tony Bonsante of " The Contender " fame will meet veteran Troy Lowry at the Minneapolis Target Center on November 17th. Fringe contender Matt Vanda who holds a win over former champion Yury Boy Campas is scheduled to fight a yet to be determined opponent in the co-feature.
It is rumored the if both Bonsante and Vanda win, the long awaited showdown between them may finally take place in January of 2007.
Bonsante has a 27-8-3 record with 16 knockouts. His biggest win was a 2003 eleventh round stoppage of Tony Ayala Jr. He has lost five of his last seven fights. Lowry is 27-6 with 16 KO's. He won 24 of his first 25 fights. In 2001 he lost a ten rounder to Hector " Macho " Camacho. He dropped a decision to Vanda in 2005. In his last fight he lost a lopsided decision to unbeaten Yuri Foreman. Vanda has a 36-2 record with 21 inside the distance wins.
