Did anyone see the Liakhovich Brewster fight? I thought brewster would have killed him but Liakhovich kicked butt especially in the 9th.

ahh brewster is a chump...i didnt catch that fight tho...do u remember when it aired? and im guessing it was on espn2 or something
it actually just aired last week on showtime. Brewster is a chump and had some special, god like help when he defeated Wlad Klitchsko.
Lamon Brewster is a great boxer. Against Sergei he injured his eye in the very first round, surgery took four hours. I am not trying to take anything away from Sergei, who fought a very good fight against a good champion, he deserved the win. But I do not see him lasting long against a motivated, well-trained and healthy Brewster.
brewster beat himself!! got beat for not workn hard enough, an under estimated sergei who was comin off of a lay-off...an lost his one of his two accomplishments the wbo championship, the other was beating W.Klitschko!!!
I also thought Brewster would have an easy time of it, but he got out hussled at every turn. I didn't disagree with the decision. Out boxed and out hussled!
Out of Focus

Brewster has or had the talent but he looks like he has fallen to the wayside. It looks to me like he has gotten too settled and lost the hunger. It happens to some good fighters but I have to say I was surprised to see it in Brewster. Maybe he will wake up and get it back together.
I like comeback stories and I would love to see one in real life with Brewster. This would make a great documentary.
Sergei is a Tomato,

Brewster uggg, he can be fun to watch do to his power, but he is not the best boxer to come down the pike.

Why would you say sergie is a tomato?
That performance against Brewster was awesome. Most complete performance by a heavyweight in a while. He destroyed Brewsters body & through alot of punches/combos.

Only problem with Liakhovich is he isnt as active as he should be. If the same fighter shows up that beat Brewster, Briggs is gettin Ko'd.
I havn't seen much of Brewster, but Ive heard (on this site) that he is a power puncher. On a scale of 1-10 how good is his power 10 being up there with Foreman, Marciano, Shavers, Baer, and Tyson.

Maybe a 7 :dunno:

He has alot of Ko's but nothing that really sticks out. I think the Golota blowout was his most impressive KO. He did hurt Liakhovich who seems to have a good chin. Wladimir's chin & stamina are a question so that is not a big deal. He couldt stop Meehan who Rahman & Danny Williams both Ko'd early. ( I know Meehan was his buddy or something) He also couldnt knockdown The " Black rhino" Ettiene who has a weak chin.

So I would say a 7 , 8 would be pushin it.
THE fight was great, but Serg.. he is 100% Tomato

He does a splended job on blocking with Chin.

Brewter on the other hand as hard hitting as he is, doesn't have the power of Briggs. Briggs is also a better boxer all the way around. I see Briggs KOing him with in 6. Our little Rocky Balboa colone has not fought the at the same level of compition as what briggs has faced in his past.

It's a good fight and I think that Briggs does have certain advantages, one being a power edge and also even at this late stage of his career he's got much more skills than SL,but let's see if Briggs comes in at anywhere near the 230 pounds where he belongs at or if he waddles into the Ring at 270+ and starts huffing and puffing after about four rounds like he has in the past. If he's in shape, than Sergei is in trouble, but I imagine Shannon is training at Burger King again.

Erik-
His last real opponent was Jameel McCline five years ago,and he lost every round but one on all three scorecards. Before that, you have to go back to a Draw(which I thought he lost)to Frans Botha and then the destruction by Lennox Lewis. To find another name opponent after that, then you have to go back to the disputed win over Foreman. It could be argued that Shannon Briggs NEVER HAS won a major fight in 50+ Contests.

Ray Mercer was washed up 10 yrs ago. He is well beyond that now.

Briggs has never fought anyone of any real talent except

Forman in witch he receive a gift decsion

Lewis, who clobbered the hell out of him and Ko'ed him in the 5th round

Still, I see Briggs winning this fight. KO 6th round

Mercer went down hill after Holmes gave him a boxing lesson in 92.
