Hi all,

I'm starting off and I was at my local sports store and found a pair of Century gloves (16oz). They were cheap so I picked them up. I'm only going to use them for some heavy bag work..no sparring. I was going to save up and buy a set of good gloves in a year maybe.

My question is, will these cheaper make gloves cause injury at all? Are they safe to use?

Thanks

Century is a pretty good brand..I mean it's nothing like Cleto Reyes or high end Everlast gloves but still. You got the ones that cost around $30 right? I think injury wise, make sure to throw your punches correctly and if you're going to be on the heavy bag for long sessions consider wearing hand wraps which can be around 10 bucks? I don't remember how much they were when I bought mine but I hear the Mexican style wraps are good :).
