James J. Braddock... Jimmy Braddock... Jim Braddock... James Walter Braddock... The Bulldog of Bergen... whatever you call him... his life and career made an incredibly story and one of my all time favorite films AND... IN MY OPINION... the greatest boxing movie ever made!!!

But what I'd like to know is this... is James J. Braddock in any of the major boxing halls of fame? If he isn't... should he be inducted? Give your reasons as to why and why not! Also... what is your honest opinion of this Irish-American Boxer???

The movie did an injustice to Baer.It did so for dramatic effect, to make a better movie so to speak I would not give to much credit to a Baer site, it would obviously discredit Braddock. We have been down the movie road before and this was a good boxing movie, but the Raging Bull is my favorite.
On the contrary, just because I chose to create a website about Max Baer, doesn't mean I had an ax to grind against Jim Braddock. I admire Jim Braddock, I just have a problem with a movie that portrays Max Baer so fictionally.

I spent 6 months researching Max Baer and all his bouts before ever making my website live. I poured through every available newspaper, magazine and book I could locate.

If you like I can send you several .pdf files of actual newspaper columns by reputable sports editors of the day that describe the Baer-Braddock fight as worse than just "plodding" or "dull and uninspired". I was being kind with the moderate words I used.

I'm thrilled you enjoyed my site. I worked very hard to ensure absolute accuracy before I brought the site live.

I'll make the same offer to you as I did to the other gentleman. If you like I can send you several .pdf files of actual newspaper columns by reputable sports editors of the day that describe the Baer-Braddock fight.

Regards,
Cat
