Cintron targets Margarito!
Cotto also on Cintron's hit list
IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron announced today his desire to avenge his only professional loss by calling out Antonio Margarito. Cintron, who lost to Margarito in April of 2005, is ready to fight Margarito now! "Right now, I'm a world champion and he's not. If he thinks he's the best, come and get my belt. I have it and he's saying he wants it so let's get it on....I was coming off a 9 month layoff, hand surgery, and had only 4 weeks to prepare. I'm not going to make any more excuses, but I know that fight was a fluke. When I fight Margarito again, the fight will once again end in a knockout. Only this time, it will be Margarito lying on the canvas." Kermit's manager Emanuel Steward told Fightnews that "The Margarito fight is something that Kermit wants to avenge very badly. He wants to get it out of the way as soon as possible. He wants to prove he's better than Margarito and that the first fight was lost for reasons that aren't apparent today. We're willing to give Margarito a shot the title just to clear things up once and for all."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cintron also said he plans to unify the welterweight division, starting with WBA champion Miguel Cotto. "He's another champion from Puerto Rico," said Cintron, "but I know that I'm the top Puerto Rican fighter. While I respect him as a champion, I know what the result will be. Like the others, he'll be wondering what hit him."

how do you guys like cintron' chances against margarito or cotto? that right hand of his gives a chance against both. if he was more tough mentally then i'd greaten his chances.

i know there's talk of a margarito/judah fight, but if i was margarito i'd say scrap that fight and make margarito/cintron 2 now. the winner of this fight would most likely take on williams or cotto methinks. one step closer to welterweight unification, and a mega payday against dlh or mayweather:cool:

does not matter which one he fights, he is going to lose and lose bad to both. He looked like crap against the last guy he fought and Cotto and Magarito would have stopped that guy.

I agree with both of you guys, Cintron looked really uninspired his last time out . if he were to show up like that against either of these of this guys ,he end up leaving the ring in a strecher ,Margarito is an agressive killer and Cotto is a methodical killer ,both of these guys will wipe the floor with Cintron

margy's power is overrated, his ko ratio is the same as floyds.
its also the same as zabs but the diffrence is margies been knocking them out at welterweight all his career where the other 2 were bigger hitters at the lower weights.

Bingo!!! As far as his power being overrated, Ask Cintron about his power. He has felt it before. Maybe he was hit so hard he forgot about it!

margarito is the second biggest hitter in the top at 147 IMO, cintron would be #1 knuckle.

I really hope they do fight. It would be very entertaining while it lasted.
aswell as being one of the hardest hittersat 147 he's got the best chin there imo to knuckle, he looks un-knockoutable.

margaritos body wont hold up to cotto's punches. I guarentee you that. Mosley hits harder than margarito. Judah hits harder than margarito. Ricardo torres at 140 pounds hits harder than Margarito. Cintron definently hits harder than margarito. I'd say floyd and margy have pretty equal power at 147. I'd actually put money on hatton hitting slightly harder than margarito.

none of the guys you mensioned hit anywhere near as hard as margie at the weight except cintron, thats fairly obvious.

floyd hits just as hard...LMAO at that one lance.

ok so the floyd statement was overboard haha, but floyd has shown good power at welterweight, margy hits average for a welterweight though, ive never seen this awesome power you guys speak off. its more of an accumulation, than real power. Cotto and cintron hit harder for sure. Mosley can punch at welterweight, I doubt margy could of rocked oscar like mosley did.

he does wear a lot of guys with educated pressure but he does have awesome ko power to, did you see the punches he landed on cintron?

of course ive seen the punches he landed on cintron, but estrada was able to hurt cintron as well, ehll even feliciano kept cintron off at times. Thats more of a cintron thing than a margy thing. He hits hard, but its not awesome power. Its just average welterweight power. Kind of like joshua clottey, many people had been talking about how strong and hard this guy hits. His last few fights have been bored and these guys have stood up to everything he throws. If he had real power, he would of been able to finish alvarez.
