According to The Sun, former undisputed cruiserweight champion David Haye has signed a promotional deal with Golden Boy Promotions to put the wheels in motion for his conquest of the United States. The paper says the deal was closed when Golden Boy came over to the UK for last Saturday's Ricky Hatton-Juan Lazcano event.

After knocking out UK-rival Enzo Maccarinelli to unify the cruiserweight division a few months ago, Haye announced that he would be moving up in weight to the heavyweight division. Haye tested the waters at heavyweight in 2007, knocking out Tomasz Bonin in a single-round.

The paper says his first heavyweight test will be former heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman. Haye was previously in talks to face Rahman a few months ago, but negotiations fell apart over money. Haye is a bigger name today and Rahman is in need of a good win to get back on his feet.

Haye needs to get back in the ring as soon as possible. Looks like this is the first step in that direction
Hell yeah. I want to start hearing about possible opponents.
I think Rahman would be a decent test. Especially if Rahman came in in shape. Haye would still beat him
Yeah everyone keeps talking about Rahman. Good call. I wouldn't mind Haye-Ibragimov.

That's a good idea. Just to see if Haye can do better against him than Klitschko did
That's where I'm coming from. Yeah styles make fights, but you could still draw some kind of comparison with Haye-Ibragimov as to where Haye stands at heavy.
Haye-Rahman would be good. Haye-Ibragimov would be better
It's fantastic news that Haye's signed with a top promoter like Goldenboy. Think it will really be the start of something great for him, has looked a little light in the legs for his last three cruiserweight fights, I reckon the extra weight will serve him well and he'll go on to make a huge impact at heavyweight. I hadn't heard about the possibility of a fight with Rahman, but would seem to be a good choice of opponnent for his first outing...
i haven't seen rahman fight for quite a while to be honest, but i have been impressed with haye at cruiserweight and i would back haye to beat him. it's just a shame that the heavyweight is so limited these days so we will probably never get to know quite how good haye is.
Haye-Ibragimov would be a fight i would like to see too. Haye wouldn't box cautiously like Wlad so it would be a more open fight, Haye would throw bombs and Sultan would have opportunities to counter. It would be a great fight.
i heard about haye vs rahman on you tube. some say rahman is too old, but i say he still is a great name to start off with and has power. rahman will give him us exposure.

Yeah, Rahman is perfect IMO. Rahman is past his prime, but hes still ranked top 10 by some organisations and hes as well known in the US as any HW at the moment. He should get the highlight reel KO too.
Yup Haye should just get somone that is a well known fighter.

Rahman, Briggs or even Toney.
