Montreal, Canada (AHN) - An ex-convict and former boxing champion, Dave Hilton Jr., is making plans at a return to the ring.
Hilton, 43, was released from prison last June following a five-year sentence for sexual assault against minors. He will face will face 26-year-old Adam Green on May 1 at the Maurice Richard Arena in Montreal for his first return fight.
Hilton hasn't stepped inside the ring since Dec. 15, 2000, when he beat Dingaan Thobela for the World Boxing Council super-middleweight title.
In March 2001, he was sentenced to seven years in prison for sexually assaulting his two underage daughters. Having served two-thirds of the sentence, Hilton will live in a halfway house until 2009, but has permission to train outside the house.
Hilton will undergo a series of tests and is required to workout in a ring before Quebec boxing commission judges make the decision to re-issue his license. He will earn $30,000 for the fight.
