World champion Felix Sturm (27-2, 12 KOs) will defend his WBA middleweight title on the June 30 "Universum Champions Night" at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart. In all, the event will feature five title fights.
After retrieving his WBA belt from Javier Castillejo on April 28, the three-time middleweight world titlist Sturm now plans to keep his belt for a longer time span. The next opponent for Sturm will be announced in the coming days.
"I feel very good and after the fight against Castillejo wanted my next fight as soon as possible," said Sturm at a press conference this week. "The third world title win has made me very hot on boxing and, fortunately, Universum complied with my wish so in Stuttgart I can further concentrate on my career. I want the best and unbeaten boxers in the world, and would also gladly box in America – Jermain Taylor, Winky Wright and now also Kelly Pavlik are the interesting names. Arthur Abraham also belongs with that group and I'd also gladly face him.
"I am happy about my fight on the Stuttgart "Universum Champions Night" especially because it always my wish was to box in South Germany. Here I have a gigantic fanbase!"
