Floyd will dance around, use his speed and skill, and bore us into another technical victory by decision. I can only hope that he toe's the line with Oscar and gives us a slug fest, but that wont happen because thats not how Floyd fights.

A few years ago I would've said Oscar de la Hoya...

HOWEVER...

About 2 years ago I changed my mind! Now... I'm not saying de la Hoya lost to an old man who was past it and de la Hoya should've won... but he was beaten by 39 year old Bernard Hopkins.

Mind you... "THE EXECUTIONER" if a freak... a fantastic boxer... ageless... and I hope to get to see him defend The Light Heavyweight Championship sooner or later.

Anyways... I would have to say "Pretty Boy" Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Mind you... I want some blood in this match! As much as I like both of these fighters... the fact that they're so good-looking makes me want to see some cuts and bruises!!!

I'm such a SADIST!!!

I think Floyd can win the fight, he will do his usual dance around and win by decision like with Baldomir. If De La Hoya can get him on the ropes and in the corners like what Baldomir did sometimes, you can get good combos on him because Floyd is all quickness and struggles a lot when he doesnt have space. Im looking forward to it, I just hope Mayweather makes it interesting and doesnt just play for the decision if hes winning.

big left hook from hoya will knockout mayweather.

it will be close with both workin behind the jab but hoya will be throwing more combos with greater power. I predict a 9th round KO victory for Oscar dela hoya. you must consider dela hoya is now used to fighting at the light middlewieght division whilst this is floyds first fight at the weight. Plus mayweather didnt exactly carrie the power he once had to the welterweight division let alone lightmiddle. How will mayweather react when he sees his father in the opposite corner.Ilike both of these fighters and think they have so much skill and class to give but i am right behind the golden boy. Whatever the final outcome it should go down in boxing history. Two of the modern greats battling it out.

I know the fights months away but I did set up the vBookie for Mayweather/De La Hoya, so bet your points. According to most bettting places Floyd is the favorite for this fight making Oscar the underdog.

Winky Wright vs Ike Quartey and Miguel Cotto vs Carlos Quintana are also set up in the vBookie.

I like Osar to pull the minor upset. This is not a good matchup for JR. Oscar has advants in size, reach, power, and experience. At some point during the fight Floyd will be forced to fight and Oscar will hurt him during the exhanges. I wouldn't be shocked to see floyd go dwn. I expect Oscar to win a close but comfortable dec. This is the best matchup in years.

what up peeps? i'm new to the forum,i think oscar has a better chance then people think. for one he has a nice right hand that floyd seems to get caught with, even baldimir caught him with a few.plus oscar is going to use his jab to set up the left hook.trust me.

Hello welcome to the board.

I am pickin DeLa Hoya as well. He is bigger & has a nice left hook also. I also wouldnt want it to go the distance & leave it up to the judges against him on Cinco de mayo.

i disagree, oscar throws flurries and has a nice right hand which give floyd problems, especially right hands.if you don't believe me check back on floyd vs angel manfredy, zab judah, even carlos baldimir.i'm telling you floyd is going to have to take chances in this fight.

Fine he,ll take his chances and come out on top again face it de la Hoya had his time and Im sure hell exit with class,""Hopefully", IM sure it will be entertaning, while it lasts . I sure would love it if Floyd SR would work Dela Hoyas corner, can you imagine if his son starts getting beating down , will his paternal instinks kick in, will he loose it like Roger and do something crazy,or be a cold dog and allow his son to get knockoutout.who knows how bad their feud is , Im pretty sure all this has been weigthed out, Im not sure but has anyone ever heard of a father working a corner against his son, that alone would sell the fight , anyways care to make a waiger let me know cousing .

let me first say that oscar is not one of my favorite fighters, but this is the kind of fight that's going to motivate him. we already know he has the heart and guts to dig down deep.now we are going to find out if floyd has those things.when or if all else fails, trust me those things will be the deciding factor!

Ok you hit a nerve here, beside making a lot of money ,what is de la hoyas motivation here , hes all ready done his bit for god and country what other possible motivation can there be, to beat a fighter who's at his peak, it seems more like ego than anything else my friend and when ego gets in the way of commonsense the result is usually dissastrus 154 is not delahoyas natural weight anymore you'll see,Floyd by unanimus deceision Ill bet the house on it
