Floyd Mayweather vs the greats

i am not realy a huge fan of floyd mayweather but it is obvious he is the best pound for pound fighter on the planet. He has incredible skills and has about every advantage to any fighter in boxing today. I think if he had fought back in the great eras he would have still dominated the divisions hes fought in. These are my opinions of who would have won these fights.

PBF V Roberto Duran (Win 12 round UD)
PBF V Julio cesar chavez (Win 12 round UD)
PBF V Ray Leonard (Win 12 round SD)
PBF V Pernell Whitiker (Win TKO 8)
PBF V Kostya Tszyu (Win TKO 10)
PBF V Meldrik Taylor (Win TKO 10)

And even could have stood his ground with some middleweights including Marvin Hagler and Bernard Hopkins.

what are your opinions and who else could PBF have defeated

yet another floyd nuthugger, duran is the best 135 fighter of alltime he would have stopped floyd at the weight, chavez, well multiply castillo by 5 and you get chavez he would have won a 12 round ud. FLOYD LOSING TO LEONARD wash your mouth out with soap  , pernell was a beutiful boxer in his prime this could have been close a real even fight, floyd ducked kostya at140 just after kostya ko'd zab, kostya was regarded to dangerous. but ill give him the win over taylor by ud.

what about ssm at 135 who i think wasn't top far behind duran in 135 p4p rankings and tito at 147 who was a bull at the weight. these are two fights i think floyd would losew also.

he's boring and overated, he picks his victims and oscar will ko him. fraud mayweather he shall be dubbed.

tommy gun. Why cant you just admitt floyd is a great champion and is not a boring fighter. Hes a 4 weight world champion. He hasnt came close to losing a fight except castillo 1. He isnt ducking. (Diego corrales, Jose luis castillo, Jesus Chavez, Arturo Gatti, Zab Judah) to name a few. He shows incredible skills in the ring. Buetifull combinations, incredible hand speed and agility, Good Power. How can you fault him?

The way i look at the Julio cesar chavez fight...
If you watch his fight between Taylor, he gets outclassed and in my opinion a beaten fighter because of Taylors handspeed and agility. Floyd n my pinion has better hand speed and better movement. Hes also has a great thinking brain and is great under pressure.

I must admitt Roberto Duran is the greatest fighter at lightweight but styles make fights. Leonards style broke up duran and even forced duran to quit. I see a Floyd doing the same thing. Winning a 12 round UD.

Pernell whitiker. He was very clever fighter but not as clever as floyd. If De la hoya could beat him floyds skills would be too much for him.

And Floyd vever ducked Tszyu. He just fought other quality opponents including the fighters i mentioned. Floyd would have danced around tszyu all night blasting great combinations.

Tommy plaese explain how floyd mayweather is ducking when hes only fought the best ?
See less See more
He may not be the most exciting, but he is clearly the best P4P as of right now.

I think you backed up your statements well by explaining why you thought he would beat that opposition.
yes we can compare floyd to these all time greats, not, as i stated everyhing floyd could do srl could do 10 times better, duran is the undisputed king of 135 ever, chavez was something like 86-0 fighting top quaility fighters at all times. now look at the probs castillo and zab caused floyd, castillo owned him and he's a level b fighter in my book, zab had just lost to baldomir and looked just as fast and sharp as floyd causing him probs and winning the first 4 rounds so dont try to compare floyd to the real greats cause he aint close.

oh and he's ducking fighters ever since leaving 135, kostya and margie.

go to post 4 in your is floyd ducking thread i go into depth on that one, floyd aint great fan's dont leave in the middle of a great fighters fights !!!
tommy gun. It makes me laugh to think you dont like Floyd Mayweather. Hes amazing. Yes he maybe cocky. Yes he might not always entertain but he always gets the win and always fights the best or top quality opponents. OK you dont think floyd could beat the names i mentioned but thats your opinion and i respect that. I would apreciate it if you respected mine.

He doesnt have the P4P number 1 rank for nothing.

it's not floyd being cocky, hamed was cocky and i ilked him. floyd has not always fought the best he never fought kostya at 140 when that was the fight 2 be made, and he even gave up a carrer high purse at the time to face margarito $8 was the offer but he chose to fight zab then baldomir. and by the way p4p lists are a matter of opinion ;)
tommy gun. how can you argue with Floyd Mayweather. He undefeated. Hes a 4 wieght world champion. Defeated some great champions. And hes now going for de la hoya. He is rated by most boxing experts the best fighter in the world???
he's rated by most u.s boxing "experts as no 1, and id like to know since lightweight who actualy stood a chance against him, not once have i said he's a bad fighter he's a beutifull boxer but as ive said before why are the fans walking out half way through his fights ?? would they walk out if a hatton or an oscar or a barrera were in the ring no. same floyd every fight, fighting the weekest money spinner he can find, etc, gatti, baldomir, zab.
klkl. that sounds good to me.

Yes maybe fans do walk out half way through but thats just stupid. theyt no what to expect in a mayweather fight. I find him so entertaining and thats why i rate him at number 1. he has incredible skills

its all about the benjamins bro, why didnt he fight oscar 5 years ago.
? how do you mean tommy ?
well oscar aint exsactly primed now, still good enough to beat floyd but it aint the glory floyd wants here its the $$$$. this fight should have happened 5 years ago. floyd would have been 25 and oscar 30. $20m is the only reason he'll try to jab and run all night, god even his own father thinks he'll lose.
Yes thats anouther point.

Oscars father in the other corner (hoyas)
Its at lightmiddle where floyd didnt carry his punching power up to welterweight
hoya has more experience with quality fighters
hoya has more, guts, power and determination

4 reasons why i think hoya will win. tommy do you have any more ?

yes just one, floyd wont come to fight he'll look to jab and run his way to victory which is the wrong thing to do. oscar is very accurate and will catch floyd at some point in the fight. oh and there's is no better finnisher alive today than oscar once he has a man in trouble.
Tommy you need to look at it from the other side. Why would Oscar have wanted to fight Floyd 5 years ago if the money wasn't as good? He wouldn't. He chose to take bigger paydays. Boxing is a business. I'm sure the only reason Oscar is fighting Floyd now is for the payday as well. The only way fans can influence which boxers fight is by the market draw that the bout will have.

Because everyone wants to watch Oscar vs PBF is why this fight is even coming off. Not because Floyd wanted to wait till Oscar was old so he could beat him. Cash is king buddy.

Theres nothing really more in it for PBF. If he loses everyone will say he was overrated. If he wins Oscar was past his prime. Its a lose lose for pbf in terms of respect. He just wants the money and who can blame him.

if floyd hadn't fought the bums thereis a chance this fight could have been made, a bum fighting other bum's.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. is OVERRATED! Put him up against Thomas Hearns and BANG!!! BOOM!!! KO!
