Estranged father and son Floyd Mayweather Sr. and Jr. have joined forces in an effort to defeat Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya on May 5. The elder Mayweather previously trained De La Hoya, but was replaced by Freddie Roach after a $2 million demand to prepare Oscar to fight his son. Floyd Jr. unveiled the reunion at today's Las Vegas press conference, telling Oscar "He may be in the corner but not YOUR corner!" Oscar stated "I'm really glad I can bring the family together like it's supposed to be."

if floyd snr and roger can get on the same page this fight has just got 10 times harder for oscar.

i can see floyd snr trying to take over camp now though and roger wont take to kind to this so watch this space......

This can go 2 ways. Floyd can catch hell in his camp and it can explode in his corner during the fight with the 2 brothers trying to be incharge. I can see Floyd Jr. Kicking Sr. out of his corner during the fight. Or they can really work together and Oscar can be in for the hardest fight of his life instead of one of the easy ones. Roach might have to teach the old vet some new tricks becuase believe Floyd Sr. is teaching Jr. all of Oscars tricks.

I think it is just one more disstraction for Floyd that he does not need specially for this fight. we all know that the honeymoon will not last long and they still have a few months to go. now add the Roger angle and things really get fuzzy he can't be happy that SR. is going to try and steal his thunder specially in this fight because if Floyd was to win it would cement Roger as a legit trainer now if Floyd wins its going to be assumed that Sr. came in an saved the day. If I was a spin man for Golden boy I would be talking all kinds of stuff about how Little Floyd didn't think his uncle could do the job and had to bring in the big guns(sr.)and that he is getting more money then Roger that would start a civil war in that camp I wiould start about April 19th or so. I am I evil or what?

Roger runs camp. Sr. will help out but Roger will remain the man. Oscar is in trouble period, even if Floyd had nobody in his corner. I wish the fight was tonight so the talk could end and the facts would be laid.

With Oscar having been a Pro for nearly 15 years and his entire career being one of the most exposed in recent history,I'm wondering what "little secrets" Floyd Sr. could possibly devulge,everything about Oscar is an Open Book. In the end,I don't think Mayweather Sr. will have any effect one way or the other.

If this is true IT,ll make for great tv, HBO is suppossed to film,em both in a 4 part episodes we should see how that reunion is gonna play out this is a very primitive family who got lucky when a meal ticket "prodigious son" came alone will they co-exist in harmony or self destruct in a frenzy for all the glory "millions" I think they're going to tear each other apart
