Hi,

I know absolutely nothing about boxing. My 20-year-old son doesn't either but is interested in getting started and has asked for a punching bag. (There are no facilities where he lives.) He's in an apartment and will be moving in early summer, so he needs something portable that doesn't have to be tethered to a wall.

I was looking at Everlast Freestanding Heavy Bag, which has the portability factor; has anyone here ever used it? If so, what do you think of it?

Do you have any suggestions on a decent free-standing punch bag?

Thank you very much for your help.

is it just me are these things noisy as hell, as the base bangs around on the floor with each of your strikes. As for being portable well if they are fulled you'll think other wise pretty quick. at least water is easy to drain but ones filled with sand might be a different story.
