Unbeaten World Boxing Organization (WBO) Asia Pacific flyweight champion Drian Francisco (12-0, 9 KOs) and WBO Inter-Continental light flyweight champion Rexon Flores (17-3, 9 KOs) will be joined by a London based sports apparel and boxing equipment brand in their bid to win in every fight.

The two promising young fighters from Gabriel “Bebot” Elorde Jr. Stable of Paranaque City are assured support from Lonsdale, a clothing company founded in London, England in 1960, producing boxing equipment before branching out into sports and fashion clothing.

Flores and Francisco, both 24 years of age, and their promoter and president of Elorde International Production, Gabriel “Bebot” Elorde Jr. and Lonsdale’s Managing Director Sasi Kumar Pillai and regional business manager Ben Gardener, who came all the way from London, signed a contract worth P500,000 in a press conference at Elorde's Boxing Gym in Anson’s Auto Center in Arnaiz Avenue, Makati City yesterday.

Flores and Francisco will become the first Asian fighters to be outfitted by Lonsdale when they put their titles on the line in a double championship main event card on August 4 at the Elorde Sports Center in Sucat, Paranaque City.

Lonsdale articles have been worn by many famous heavyweight boxers, including Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Henry Cooper and Lennox Lewis. And Flores and Francisco will be the first Asian fighters to be outfitted by the company.

Elorde is expecting WBO vice president Leon Panoncillo will assign formidable challengers from Bangkok’ Kokiet Boxing Stable.

Flores, rated No. 2 by the WBO, and Francisco, ranked No. 5 by WBO, are both logged in more than 100 rounds of sparring, including their separate two-round sessions against Keward Minoza and Sylvester Lopez, respectively, after the one-hour conference.

If victorious, Flores might be set against WBO light flyweight champ Hugo Cazarez of Mexico possibly in September in Mexico while Francisco eyes WBO flyweight champ Omar Narvaez of Argentina in December in Argentina, according to Elorde.
