I am looking for information about early Golden Glove winners in Missouri. My father, who passed on in 1999, said that he won the Golden Gloves in MO. when he was a kid. This would have been before he joined the Marines in 1941 or 1942. Mom says that she saw a picture of him posing in a newpaper clipping when they were visiting relatives in Kansas City. Is there a place that would have this information? I can't seem to find any place and I thought maybe someone in this forum might have some ideas.
thanks so much:)

Jack Haley was the 126lb champion in 1941. He was from Kansas City. This was the national championship though. Are you looking for a regional listing?

Maybe you could check on-line Kansas City records such as Newpaper, library, or Kansas City Muninicipal records. Or an award list for Golden Gloves for that year.

Please contact me about your father. I'm also looking for more information. My Dad Harold L. Golden, was a Golden Gloves Champ. from St. Joseph, MO. and fought before joining the Army at the beginning of WW II.
