Everybody who is a boxing nut knows that Hagler/Hearns was one of the greatest boxing matches ever... in spite of the fact that it ended in the 3rd Round. So... can we have any classic fights that lasted even less than that... 2 Rounds? 1 Round?

Believe it or not... in spite of the fact that George Foreman completely destroyed Joe Frazier in their 1973 Bout over 2 Rounds... Ring Magazine named it their fight of the year!

I don't know why... it was a classic moment... but the fight was so incredibly one-sided. Action-packed... but all George Foreman.

So... you could say that was a classic fight that lasted 2 Rounds or Less.

However... one fight that does come to mind which lasted 2 Rounds or less was this one!:

Jack Dempsey versus Luis Firpo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

THIS FIGHT LASTED JUST 2 ROUNDS... yet for those who were alive to see it back in the year 1923... it was written in the pages of History as a Classic Heavyweight Bout!!!

YOU CAN READ ALL ABOUT IT AT THIS LINK THAT I HAVE JUST PROVIDED YOU!

Besides that one... and the Foreman/Frazier Ring Magazine Fight Of The Year 1973... do you know of any other boxing matches that lasted 2 Rounds or less which you consider "CLASSIC?"

I agree.I watched it on closed circuit, back when there was know pay per view.I remember sitting at the municipal auditorium in Nashville,TN.There were 4 to 500 people there. When that bell sounded for round one,at the very start of the fight, the way Hagler & Hearns came at each other, everybody jumped to their feet, and know one else in the auditorium man, woman, child, sat back down.Everyone knew this wasnt going to last long.Pure violence in the first degree.I hadnt seen anything like that in boxing before.(My life time)And I havent seen anything like that in boxing to this very day.If there was a fight that you got your moneies worth, that was it.Hagler and Hearns wasnt boxing, they were fighting. As the old saying like cats & dogs.

There have been a lot of "FAMOUS" and "CLASSIC" moments in fights that lasted 2 Rounds Or Less...

Ali vs. Liston in their 2nd Bout

Tszyu vs. Judah at the end of the 2nd Round (Judah's Chicken Dance)

Tyson vs. Spinks

Many classic moments... but great fights that were all out one way and then the other before a winner... in a fight that lasted 2 Rounds or Less? It's hard... that Dempsey/Firpo one was the only one that I could find... which is why I made this thread!!! It's a challenge... there have been many great 3 Round Fights... but 2 Rounds or Less... that's your challenge... to find some!:cheeky4:

You're my new favourite memeber... WELCOME!!! You have a very cool username as well... Hearns/Duran was a famous fight... it wasn't necessarily a tight/close/evenly contested classic 2 Round or Less Fight like Dempsey/Firpo... but you really know you're stuff... Hearns/Cuevan was a BRUTAL One-Sided Fight... a classic moment... I say again... you're AWESOME!!!
