I'm also new to boxing. I trained for about 4 months last year before I had to move. I'd like to get back into it, but I have a couple of injuries that I need to consider.
The first is, I may have low level tears in both rotator cuffs. I haevn't seen anyone yet to confirm, but as I started in on the heavy bag to get back into it, I had a lot of pain in the shoulders in between workouts. It wasn't bad enough to stop the workouts, but I guess I'd like to know if anyone has an opinion on what I could do, or what I should not do.
The bigger issue is that I recently found that I have a herniated disc in my lower back. I went through physical therapy, and it feels pretty good now. Is it not a good idea to try to get back into boxing with this injury, or should I just be careful? Any opinions here?
Thanks . . .
