If Rocky Marciano for the "golden 50" to end his career with 50-0, who do you think he would've fought and do you think he would've remained undefeated? I think he would've fought Floyd Patterson, and he would've beaten him in either rounds 5 or 6.
He was 33.The Auctioneer said:Bill,
How old was Rocky when he retired? I think his only loss would have come as the result of being in the game to long, so he got out while he could ,which is very rare trait in an athlete.

Everybody knows the good things about Liston,i.m.o. here is a couple of negitive. After the Clay/Ali matches I kind of question his heart.Discouraged and quiting on his stool, and I think he took a dive in the second fight. Also heard that when he seen his own blood he had a tendancy to panic, like in the Leotis Martin fight.Speaking of Martin, that devistating right hand he threw kncocked Liston flat.If Marciano had anything at all it was right hand k.o.power.bill1234 said:Yeah, Liston could beat an old Marciano. In their primes it would be a heck of a fight though. I would give it to Marciano by late round KO.
Marciano had the shortest reach (68'') of any heavyweight champ. Marciano had a better right than Liston, the onlt thing was Listons jab. Liston had a great jab, but in a slug fest Marciano would KO Liston around the 6th or 7th.niko said:Everybody knows the good things about Liston,i.m.o. here is a couple of negitive. Marciano probably had the shortest reach in heavy history. He would have to survive Listons jab (not to mention his Power) in the early rounds and hope to catch him in the later rounds.Marciano seemed to have tremendous stamina and was always in great shape.
Marcianos weight was mostly under 190.Liston 210 or later in his career more.
YOUR LOOKING AT TWO DIFFERENT SIZED MEN HERE.I WOULD LIKE TO THINK THE ROCK WOULD K.O.SONNY.LETS FACE IT, AMIGO,IT COULD HAVEbill1234 said:Yeah, Liston could beat an old Marciano. In their primes it would be a heck of a fight though. I would give it to Marciano by late round KO.
Marciano started his pro career kind of late.I think he was closer to 25.White Tyson said:Marciono was kind of young (depending on what you're definition of young is) when he retired... 33 I think he was... if not 32... and he boxed Pro. for 9 Yrs!
Like I stated earlier Marciano has qualities to win like Determination, stamina, punch and anything else you might want tobill1234 said:You mean a 3'' difference? Thats nothing. Marciano was always around 189-191. He had a huge right. He had a better right than Liston for sure. He could take a better shot and had more stamina too. Listons jab might keep Marciano away for a round or two, but after that Liston would be done for. I know Liston was a slugger with a good jab, but Marciano could slug it out with anyone.
His wife wanted him to retirebill1234 said:Marciano was always in great shape. If he wanted to he could have gone 50-0 but he wanted to retire.
