was this a home town decision or what he clearly lost this fight i struggled to give him anything after the first 2 rounds, lacy was retired by calzaghe, anyone who has a good chin a jab and good right cross beats him!!!

I thought Ledermans card was fairly accurate when he scored it a draw. I could see it going either way though. Typsko(correct spelling?) took a break for a few rounds and thats were lacy picked up enough points for the draw I thought.

Lacy looks like he's done but he was complaining about his left shoulder hurting. He didn't look like "left hook" cause I didn't see any coming from him. Besides some jabs it was mostly just his right hand working.

Hes definitely got some power, but he looked so sluggish last night. His hand speed was clearly inferior to Tsypko's. I thought the fight was very close, so I dont have a problem with the decision, although I had Lacy down a round to Tsypko.

It makes you wonder how big of a win this was for Calzaghe :dunno:

Was he just the 1st guy to expose Lacy as a 1 demensionl fighter. Lacy was overated so maybe Calzaghe isnt as great as you think.

I like Lacy, but I do believe he's a one-dimensional fighter. The fight looked like a draw to me, so I think it was a hometown thing. Sometimes I think the challenger has to definitely win the fight over a popular fighter before judges will side in their favor. Sort of like in a title defense. Maybe it was even pity in the hopes that it would help rebuild his confidence.

The truth of the matter was Lacy couldn't put away an unranked fighter with just average skills. I'll be curious to see how the next fight goes.

HA! I never thought of it that way...kind of does give Calzaghe's victory a bit of bad context....

i.e.: did Calzaghe beat a "good American fighter"...
ummmm, maybe not, yet.....

 i wont bite to this one guy's, after seeing the lacy who destroyed robin reid i knew that guy was special, but when a fighter takes a beating in the way lacy did sometimes they'll never recapture that form they once had.

by the way jet joe dont need to beat a good american with a name like eubanks on his record. :cheeky4:

Shoulder injuries suffured in the second round of the fight which require surgery are not an excuse for looking bad in a fight even when your nick name is left hook and it was your left shoulder that was injured?

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to give lacy the benefit of the doubt here guys. He fought 10 rounds with one arm. After he recovers from his shoulder surgery in a year and I see him fight someone using both his hands then I think I can decide on whether or not he is overrated.

Lacy still overated as far as I a concerned . maybe he needs to drop a fw pounds and got to Middle weight take on those guys now as far as Joe and Hopkins I really feel that Joe is to busy to skilled and well condition for Hopkins to try and wear him out like he typically does with his opponents.
