Guzman defeats Davis!
WBO super featherweight champion Joan Guzman (27-0, 17 KOs) won a unanimous decision over Antonio Davis (22-3, 11 KOs) to successfully defend his title on Monday night at the Palacio De Los Deportes Professor Virgilio Travieso Soto in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Guzman aggressively attacked Davis from the opening bell. Davis sustained cut over right eye in round three. However, Davis' headbutts began to make Guzman's left eye swell. Guzman's eye continued to swell as the fight progressed, but he did enough to prevail by scores of 116-110, 118-109, 119-108. Referee Joe Cortez deducted from Davis in round eight for elbowing
