Guzman, Soto make weight!
World champion Joan Guzman and Humberto Soto both weighed in inside the 130 limit in advance of Saturday's WBO junior lightweight title fight in Atlantic City. With New Jersey's acting boxing commissioner Sylvester Cuyler presiding, Guzman and Soto both initially weighed 130.2, however, twenty minutes later Soto came back at 130 even, while Guzman weighed 129.6. Before leaving the island of Manhattan with WBO junior lightweight champion Joan Guzman for Atlantic City, trainer Floyd Mayweather, Sr., took a few minutes to speak about working with Guzman and his match tonight against Humberto Soto.

"We've been working together for maybe four months, and we worked one time in Montecello," Mayweather recalled. "we went home when the fight was called off... but we came back again."

Asked how those training sessions went, Mayweather recalled, "Good, real good. Like I said, from what I saw of this guy (Joan) Guzman, I can't see this guy (Humberto Soto) beating Guzman. He's got too many moves. He's very slick, this guy."

Asked about Team Guzman's game-plan, Mayweather offered, "Basically, all he has to do is jab. Guzman is Guzman and he's going to be Guzman and he's going to do a lot of crazy things, I don't know what he's going to do."

Asked for a prediction on the fight, Mayweather is positive the fight will go the distance, "but I think Guzman is going to prevail."

Guzman (27-0, 17 KO's) is from Brooklyn, N.Y., via the Dominican Republic, Soto (43-5-2, 27 KO's) is from Los Mochis, Mexico.

Tickets for tonight's Guzman vs. Soto at the Borgata Hotel, Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, N.J., are still available and priced at $225, $175, $145, $115, $95, $75 and $45 and can be obtained by calling (866) 908-4849.

Those unable to attend can tune into HBO's Boxing After Dark telecast, the first bout features 2004 Olympian Abner Mares against bantamweight Damian Marchiano of Argentina, beginning at 9:45 PM ET/PT.

stay tuned guys, someone is sure to jump in here and do the live play by play.
Has nobody committed to it? Crap, I will end up being the sucker that does it. Oh well...hopefully it will stick this time. Ok, I'll do it! I will be doing a much more condensed version of my regular coverage. I am doing something at fightjudge.com as well so I wont be able to do my usual paragraph-per-round coverage.

Coverage should start in 3 and a half hours.

Steve, if you want to do the full-blown pbp that would be great. I will just post my scores with a little insight from each round. That would really help me out, because I will be somewhat tied up figuring out the scorecard situation live. I'm trying very hard to get the scorecards on our site for all of you guys. Thanks again mayne!

Not me, I have Cotto winning once again just like I have the last 5 times. Most guys just tend to like mosley more because he's been around longer. Cotto definently gets the 11th.
