In a WBC super flyweight eliminator, former world champion and #1 rated Jorge Arce (49-4-1, 37 KOs) scored a majority decision over previously unbeaten #2 rated Devid Lookmahanak (18-1, 9 KOs) in front of 18,000+ rabid fight fans at the Plaza Monumental in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The mostly unknown southpaw Lookmahanak gave as good as he got and took the crowd out of the fight. Arce scored a flash knockdown in round seven, but Lookmahanak wasn't hurt. The fight continued to be close the rest of the way, but Arce seemed a little busier down the stretch to edge Lookmahanak by scores of 115-113, 115-114 and 114-114. With the win, Arce earned a rematch with Cristian Mijares, who now holds the WBC and WBA belts.
