Earlier around 6:30 PM, I had a great sparring session. I was against a guy that plays football and wrestles, and hits pretty hard. Ive been hearing he hits hard for about a month now, but never sparred him to find out until today. Now, after what I tell you now, you will know that it was a good fight. He hits hard, but I hit hard too, a lot of people say I hit harder. He is kind of fast, and so am I. Ive been waiting to spar him, and he's been waiting to spar me. There was a lot of hype saying "oh so and so's gonna beat you up!" People joking around like that. When we got in the ring everyone stopped to watch. Larry was already gone, but he will probably hear about it. As soon as the bell rang it was on. I won the first round rather convincingly. I was nailing him with the double-jab, right cross combo, and hiting him with the jab, and throwing a left hook right after it. The person was a bull though. He just kept on coming, and I just kept on punching. The bell rang, I was kind of tired, and so was he. I got my breath back during break, so did he (again) then in the 2nd round, I was doing the same thing. Except there was a little more pushing trying to get eachother on the ropes. I got him into the corner, but he got out by pushing me back into the ropes. I came off the ropes swinging, and backed him into the center of the ring. Then as we were breaking, he whacked me with a real good right hook to the jaw. I got pissed off, and hit him as hard as I could right in the face with me right cross (my most powerful punch) he stumbled back a little, then his nose started pooring blood, so I went back into sparring mode, not fighting mode. After that he came at me, and it was on! We stood toe to toe just slugging it out. Taking turns exchanging blows. I would hit him with a good, stiff, jab, then he would hit me with a right over top. Then I would hit him with a left hook and right uppercut, then he would hit me with a 1-2. Then I'd hit him with a 1-2-3, then he would hit me, then I would hit him and so on. Then in the final 10 seconds of the round, we were both exhausted (the first time I ever got tired in the ring) and we just went all out. We threw as many punches as we possibly could, not even focusing on defence. Then someone called out 2 seonds left, and we just kept wailing on eachother, his blood is all over me, and it took something out of him. His nose was bleeding a lot! Then the bell rang and we both went back to our corners, and got all of our gear off. I walked over and told him that he gave me a good fight, he was still cleaning his nose off. Then we started to leave, and his nose started to bleed again. A lot of guys complimented us on our great sparring session, and I went home. By far that was my best/favorite sparring session. Were gonna do it again next month, but this time, he will want revenge (he aint gonna get it though:p )

sounds like alot of back and forth. you have a good memory. I never remmeber what happens in a sparring match except for who got the best of who or if it was a good workout. What weight do you box at?
100lbs. I'm really starting to feel it now. There was a lot of back and forth in the 2nd round, but the first round I took rather convincingly.

I already came up with a strategy to beat him into the ground next time. He likes to throw his right hand a lot, and he is wide oped for uppercuts and lefthooks, which I hit him with when we sparred. He has a good right, so I am gonna side step to my right, and feint a jab and throw a rightcross-lefthook combo. And do stuff like that. Also, my double jab, right hand was getting him pretty good. I'm gonna keep busier, and I'm gonna hit him to the body more.

Bill when u say Larry wasnt there are you talking about Larry Holmes? :D, do you know him ? and if so how?
Nope, I was talking about Larry Merchant. He was supposed to commentate the fight, but apparently he doesn't know his lefts and rights. We told him to turn left at the light, but he ended up in the river on the other side of the road and bridge. He started commentating someone fishing, and kept asking what Emanuel Stwart though.:dunno:
