He would need serious training to become a serious contender in boxing. A taller heavyweight with a decent jab would brutalize him and have him out of there clean and easy. He is fast and strong, and I love how he countered over that jab. Although his style is strictly street fighting, nothing more. There are so many aspects to boxing where people don't realize it's not only punching. The best "strikers" in MMA couldn't hang with most C level boxers, and vise versa.

He would not do good, altho Kimbo has decent striking he hasnt fought a bad mma fighter yet, hes just fough terrible ones. WE need yo see him fight somone with ground game and also has some striking to be able to see if he can even fight in mma.

I watched his fight with abbot on showtime a few days ago, It was fun to watch, only because he fights with his fist. I can watch that. It was fun to watch, would he beat a top heavyweight, I seriously doubt it.

With gloves on and against someone trained to watch only punches he'd be screwed. You have to remember in MMA you can catch someone with a fist by faking with your leg, can't do that in boxing!

I just watched the fight again and Kimbo is really just a brawler. I think as stated in another post, Kimbo would really need some serious training. In his mma career has he even gone a full 3 rounds with anyone? Can he last even 3-5 rounds? in boxing could he last 10 rounds?
I just think he is a money maker at the moment.

kimbo doesnt have a clue on how to box. he has beat up several crack addicts in peoples backyards though. as far as mma he hasnt fought one mma fighter yet, he fought a 42 year old drunk tank abbot and a 40+ year old ray mercer who doesnt know submissions. any decent mma heavyweight would tear him up and any decent heavyweight boxer would open up his hole.

Kimbo actually has a decent standup for a mma guy tho but its the other 5-6 things u have to be good at too that will never make him a real contender. But the guy can punch thers no denying that and he has one of the greatest fighters of all time Bas Rutten training him, but imo its too late for Kimbo to be a all around mma fighter so hell try to earn a few bucks while he still can.

Kimbo AkA Kevin Fergeson is 34 .. He seems pretty diesel .. he hasnt fought ANYONE good really .. even his street fights are eh .. Supposivly he wants to fight Paul Buentello next.. who looks like he also is horribly out of shape too .. I need to see Kimbo Fight someone on His level .. these guys are bums... I would pay good $$ to see a Kimbo Vs Brock .. or Kimbo vs Tyson .. I know both are probably not going to happen anytime soon but those would be good matchup probably.. .. Kimbo has serious Power in his hands.. but I dont think he can take out anyone that is actually half way decent ..
