Lennox Lewis vs. Vitali Klitschko

As I watched Lennox Lewis have his lost title handed back to him, after being destroyed Saturday night. I found myself pondering numerous questions. Why did the fight not go to the score cards? Was it because it was in the contract not to after completing six rounds or was it because Lewis has a contract with HBO. I also asked myself, how much more of this nonsense can I view as paper champions such as Lewis and Roy Jones duck the warriors or lay on them throughout a fight while only concerned about the big payday. Did I pay to watch a rap group or a boxing match? Obviously it's all about the money. Lewis said he is like a fine wine which gets better with age, he looked more like yac juice to me. By the way, anyone who knows about fine wines knows that the best wines come from the Rhein mountains in Germany. There's some irony for ya. So much for having the large man for a meal. The entire boxing world saw Lewis have his lunch handed to him by the underestimated Klitschko. As my grandfather, an undefeated WWII Golden Gloves Champion would say," don't let your alligator mouth over run your parakeet butt." After twenty years as a boxing fan, I find myself asking if I'm paying to watch boxing or professional wrestling. Thank the heavens for ol George Foreman being there to put things into perspective. For he's the only HBO commentator who really knows anything about putting the gloves on and standing toe to toe with another warrior and having them throw thunder at him. Who am I to make such a comment? As I mentioned not only one but both of my grandfathers traveled throughout the military camps during the second WW boxing, both undefeated. Myself a Korean trained martial arts instructor, former full contact submission fighting state champ and Muay Thai kick boxer. I have felt the thunder and didn't break my nose four times playing table tennis. Lets pull it together, Merchant needs to stop bad mouthing the fighters and let the warriors do battle. Lets give the fight world what it deserves, the truth and a true champion. If Lewis is allowed to duck Klitschko for a rematch to keep his title, to put on a show of paper champions against Jones; not only will I not purchase the event but I'll cancel my subscription to HBO. Put the bums on the bus and let the dogs of war in the ring.

The reason the fight did not go to the score cards had nothing to do with HBO. The cut was not from a butt, it was from the glove of a 250lb world champion.

Lewis never came out rapping or with a rap group.

As for the fight Lewis was probably behind on the scorecards after 6 rounds, but you know what a title fight is 12 rounds. Not 5 not 6. I thought lewis took Vitali's best punches & did not go down. In my opinion Lewis was getting his second wind in the 5th & 6th & starting to turn the fight around.

It was a damn good fight. But Lewis won.

I think Lewis maybe undertrained goin in planning on fighting that bum Kirk Johnson. And then had his hands full with late sub Vitali.

I bet you love Lewis as a commentator.

Lewis was everything all of you have been asking/bitching for in the heavyweight division the last 5 years.
A dominant heavyweight that fought all challengers. Was in pretty good shape not like a Toney or Peter. Kept his nose clean & was not a punk.

And you thought Lewis was "destroyed"? WTF :dunno:

It was a good fight back & forth.

Lewis took Vitalis best punches w/o goin down. And that gash under Viatalis eye was not from a headbutt or elbow or knee it was from the fist of the guy you say was "destroyed".
i had lewis 1 round down when it was stopped and it was obvious to me had it gone 12 rounds vitali would not have won another round. lewis was getting into the fight and klitscko was fading fast. these 2 guy's were on diffrent levels lewis is a top 5 hw of alltime and klit strugles to get in the top 5 of 90s guy's.
All I know is Vitali got bloodied up, and I have a picture of it in the boxing gallery.

Good ponts. I am gald you agree on this. I really thought Lewis weathered the early storm & was getting a second wind goin into the second half of the fight.

Yeah Bill his eye was a mess.
Could you imagine fighting on that bloody?
