Manny Pacquiao is certainly not looking past his June 28 opponent, WBC lightweight champion David Diaz. Pacquiao moves up in weight to challenge Diaz for the title at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Both fighters have now agreed terms and the ink is dry on the contracts.

Diaz has been listed as a heavy underdog by most experts, citing his lack of speed as the major obstacle in the fight. What Diaz lacks in speed, he makes up for with power. Pacquiao told The Manila Bulletin that while Diaz can't match his quickness, he is still a very tough opponent.

Pacquiao says Diaz is “not too fast but remains a very dangerous opponent.”

The main factor won't overlook in the fight is Diaz's punching power.

"Diaz has power in his hands and you just don’t take somebody like him lightly because you might end up crying in the end," said Pacquiao.

We will be doing a live play by play here at boxingforum.com for this HBO PPV on June 28th

Fields-Barrett is on. Fields coming forward, Barrett just staying back. All of a sudden Fields is caught with a right hand on the way in and is rocked, and goes down under a barrage of punches. He can't get up! 1st Round KO for Barrett.

Wow, I didn't see that coming and apparently Fields didn't either.

Soto-Lorenzo has just finished. Soto was about to win in Round 4, Joe Cortez went to step in then strangely paused halfway through :dunno: Then Lorenzo goes down again. Soto "apparently" hit Lorenzo whilst he was down according to officials. Soto jumps around thinking he's won, Lorenzo is laying against the ropes with blood everywhere whilst Cortez tries to find out what happened. In the end his decision is...disqualification! So Lorenzo wins! Very bad decision from the ref IMO. Steve Bunce calls Joe Cortez stupid and pathetic. Lots of confusion at the end of that fight.

Manny walks to the ring and gets a fantastic reception as always. Diaz, the champion, walks to the ring as Pacquiao waits. Michael Buffer officially introduces the officials. The three judges are: Gary Meritt, CJ Ross and Paul Smith. The referee is Vic Drakulich. The fighters are introduced. We are nearly ready for the start now

Round One: The crowd chant "Manny, Manny, Manny" as the action begins. Pacquiao comes forward trying to land early. Not many punches get through put the ones that do are coming from Pacquiao. Round One goes to him.

Round Two: Pacquiao coming forward again. He is already landing his powerful left and to the body. He hits Diaz with a big combo. Diaz in trouble. Blood is coming from Diaz. He replies with a left hand but other than that it's one way traffic again. Pacquiao faster and more powerful. This round to him also.

Round Three: A little more scrappy this round, but Pacquiao is again allowed to land coming in. Diaz already looks outclassed. He tries to reply but isn't fast or strong enough.

Round Four: Pacquiao comes out and sticks to what he has done so far. Blood on Diaz' face. The ref stops the action to have cut checked. It's OK. Pacquiao then lands another good combo. Diaz in trouble again. To his credit he does reply with a couple of shots, but other than that it's all Pacquiao.

Round Five: All Diaz can do is hold on. Pacquiao can hit him at will. To his credit Diaz hangs in there and even lands a couple but Pacquiao is landing the harder shots. Diaz is in bad condition. Blood pouring down face from cut. Bad cut. Could be stopped if it gets worse.

Round Six: This round has more inside fighting. Diaz actually lands a couple of good shots, but they aren't hard or damaging. Pacquiao then replies with another swarm of punches. Diaz again has no answer and has to cover up. The doctor looks at the cut again. It's really bad now.
