Promoter Dennis Hobson says a fight between Arturo Gatti and Matthew Hatton (30-3-1), brother of jr welterweight superstar Ricky Hatton, is close to being finalized. "Gatti's people are definitely interested in the fight and I have told them if they want to fight Ricky they have got to get through Matthew first," Hobson told PA Sport. "Matthew is coming out of Ricky's shadow and he is ready for this fight."

ricky hatton feels his brother matthew would be more than a match for arturo gatti if the planned bout against the legendary fighter goes ahead.
the ibf champ, who is also matthews manager, beleives his brother is capable of producing an impressive victory over the canadian legend.
hatton said, "arturo gattis team have been in touch and we've accepted the fight. we're waiting to hear from them.
"i think this would be a great fight for matthew and its not beyond doable, arturo has a lot of fights under his belt while i think my brother is just reaching his best."
ricky was expected to fight gatti himself, but these plans were shelved after the canadian was defeated by carlos baldomir.
hatton said. "im not jelous, im not jelous at all. i lost the chance to fight gatti - i think if he had beaten baldomir then i would have fought him.
