Cotto wins

cotto won on a 11th round tko of urkal. It was a very entertaining fight. Urkal could take a very good punch but could never hurt cotto, Cotto has seem to become even more powerful with his body shots, but remember, not even kosta tsyzu could stop urkal.

well that was at #140 and a few years ago the guy is 37 years old and has pillows for fists. I really think everyone is making to much of Cotto but I guess we will find out when he fights guys that can Punch Vivian Harris comes to mind Cintron is a good power puncher but I think overall lacks the skill to take on Cotto.

still i think urkal is tough. And he had underestimated power, you could tell by the way they sounded, I think cotto will havea good test against judah, im a huge mayweather fan and he gave mayweather hell in the first few rounds, he is very fast and a pretty strong welterweight. we'll have to see, once he gets past judah, i think we will see the big matchups, i think he will kill margarito and williams to the body.

I think his chin is his weakness. He also seems to get tired, and tends to take a round off here and there. In against an aggressive high volume puncher like a paul williams or a margarito, I think that would spell big trouble for Cotto. Miguel is an amazing body puncher, and could give anyone troublle if he can protect his chin well enough. A fight with Judah should be a very good matchup, although I dont know that Zab will put as much pressure on him as necessary.

ive just seen urkal vs cotto and ill tell you guys what, cotto looked like crap. he was slow, showed no skill and his power didn't look all that!! he was accurate to the body but ill say again he wasn't to powerful. the point deductions were BS to and if they never happened urkal was right in the fight. my views on zab v cotto have just changed i think the fight will be a whole lot closer now maybe even with zab getting some sort of result. anybody who picks cotto over either margarito or hatton needs there heads looked at.

it was just a tune up for cotto he wasnt going in looking for a first round TKO...he just wanted to break him down round by round. this of course was put on the back burner after cotto got cut. after that he just trying not to get seriously injured....everyone knew he was going to win regardless. but urkel kept head butting him throughout the match.


and to tommygunn...yes i would take cotto over hatton.

this wasn't a tune up it was cotto's mandatory defence.

secondly the point deductions were BS and that was due to the fact cotto was fighting in is own country.

can you tell me exsactly why you'd pick cotto over hatton because if you look at cotto's notable wins he's looked like crap in them with the exception of quintana who was a bit of unknown camodity.

the same reason you dont pick cotto for looking like "crap" against fighters is the same reason why i wouldnt pick hatton....

he in my eyes lost the fight against collazo....he was out boxed and out matched....all he was doing was holding on the later rounds of the fight...he shouldve lost that fight imo

the butts were nothing certinly no where near as bad as cotto's constant kidney blows.

i posted the compu-box stats for hatton collazo here a while ago hatton outlanded collazo in the fight by around 3-1. hatton imo won the fight by 3 rounds against collazo who is a legit contender at 147lb unlike quintana and urkal.
