man thats a tough fight Pavlik has advantages in skill but Miranda showed stamina and heart against Green my vote goes to Miranda . he will land a big shot and put Pavlik to sleep its a shame to because I think Pavlik could beat Taylor and become a champ.

this is allot like Margie taking on Williams insted of waiting for the tittle shot.

Miranda, Pavlik raw quotes!
Edison Miranda: I want to know what Pavlik is doing on this line with all of these adults. He shouldn't even be on this call....I'm going to knock out Pavlik, even my grandfather can knock out Kelly Pavlik....On May 19 in Memphis everybody is going to see a great fight and I have a question for Kelly Pavlik -- Are you sleeping well?....I feel I am the best middleweight in division and I haven't fought blown up welterweights because I would have been embarrassed. Pavlik hasn't fought anyone and my grandfather is 100 and could knock Pavlik out....To me it doesn't matter who I fight. I will fight whoever I need to fight whether it is Jermain Taylor, Kelly Pavlik…whoever I have to fight, I'll fight....I haven't seen anything from Pavlik. He is dead. He's dead as a boxer....Panthers are special and go hunting for deer and rabbits and May 19 I will go hunting for a phantom.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kelly Pavlik: I take nothing away from Miranda but in the Allan Green fight I didn't see anything. I saw him (Miranda) get dropped early and I didn't see Green fight much. Miranda let Green come forward and set up. I know my punching power and ability and am very confident with this fight. Once I beat Miranda the critics will have something to say again....Having this opportunity is great and it is something that everybody wants. It's a dream and once I get passed Miranda convincingly I should get my shot at the title.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pavlik's Promoter Bob Arum: Our plans were to fight Jermain Taylor but obviously he plans to fight jr. middleweights or blown up welterweights. We think Kelly is the best fighter. He was extremely competitive in the amateur days with Taylor and Kelly Pavlik is going to be next middleweight champion of world. It will be either by beating Jermain Taylor or someone else.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Miranda's Promoter Leon Margules: Edison will fight best fighters in the world and will do whatever it is he needs to do to fight the best.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Taylor's Promoter Lou DiBella: Edison might be best self-promoter I've seen in a long, long time, especially for someone who doesn't speak English. We will get the chance on May 19 to see if Edison can back up his talk.

Miranda: I'll make Pavlik disappear!
"Kelly Pavlik is a worthy opponent and a hard puncher, so the fans should see a great fight. Unfortunately for him, I hit harder than he does, and when I do land, I'll make 'The Ghost' disappear" said Edison Miranda today descibing his May 19 clash with Kelly Pavlik in the HBO-televised opener of Jermain Taylor-Cory Spinks at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. Unbeaten Ronald Hearns (13-0, 11 KO's), yet another middleweight star on the rise, will also appear on the card. The "Motor City Cobra," fighting out of Michigan, is the son of the legendary champion Thomas "Hitman" Hearns. Tickets are priced at $550, $450, $250, $125, $95, $45, and $25 for students, seniors, and active military and will go on sale on Wednesday, April 4 at 10:00 AM Central time. Tickets are available at the FedExForum Box Office, All Ticketmaster Outlets, Official Ticketmaster site. Tickets for Concerts, Sports, Arts, Theater, Family, Events, more or charge by phone at 901-525-1515.

Well... lanky boxers in the lesser weight division have proven that they can be more deadly and powerful than shorter stockier fighters in lesser weight divisions (For Example: Thomas Hearns vs. Roberto Duran)! I tipped Miranda but Pavlik could win! :)

Although I see Pavlik winning this one, I can see it going either way, honestly. It's kind of a toss up knowing that Miranda could end the fight at any moment but we'll see.

Does anyone know the odds/who's the favorite?

Taylor-Jones?

No matter who wins the Miranda-Pavlik bout,Taylors next fight could be with Roy Jones JR.
That is if he (Taylor) gets by Spinks.Roy will have to come down in weight that might not be good for him.
