LAS VEGAS - The split decision win by Floyd Mayweather, Jr. over Oscar De La Hoya was in doubt for almost 15-minutes as an error with the scorecards sent everyone in a panic.

Apparently, the colors on the final scorecards were mixed up. The cards mistakenly listed Mayweather as fighting from the red corner and De La Hoya from the blue, which for a brief moment caused concern that the scores were reversed, with De La Hoya actually being the split winner. Richard Schaefer, CEO for Golden Boy Promotions, quickly investigated and found that the scores were accurate for each fighter, only the colors were mixed-up.

"It's a pretty sad case that you have in such a great event that kind of bullsh*t," Schaefer said. "It seems it was an honest mistake. It's a small mistake they made in the overall scorecard."

I don't think Mayweather did enough to take De La Hoya's title. De La Hoya was right, he was the champ, and you have to trulybeat the champ to take his title, not drag the fight out.

I used to think that way bill until I saw them give Jermain Taylor the W. But, straight up Floyd won more rounds than Oscar did.
no he didn't, oscar won 5 of the first 8 rounds on most cards. 2,3,4 were clearly delahoya rounds after a good first round from floyd. oscar also won the 12th round after looking like he had fadded out. the 12th swung it for me, i had it level going into the last. jerry roth gave floyd a gift scoreing the last to him, thew other 2 gave it to oscar and rightly so.

I read the paper this morning and it say that Pretty Boy Floyd won. I come here this morning and there are still disputes. I come here to ask these questions...

A: Has anybody retired (Oscar? Floyd?)?

B: Any chance of a rematch?

C: What's this beef with the scorecards?

I was also just about to say that "Floyd Mayweather Jr. is the first boxer that I hate... who I will admit is very, very good... all other boxers that I hate... I hate because I just don't think that they're very good at boxing and are overrated... but now I'm not too sure! Anyways... may you all have a very nice day and SUPER FEATHERWEIGHTS RULE!
