Mundine v. Calzaghe/Kessler/Taylor/Wright

In an interview yesterday when appearing on a sporting/comedy variety show... Mundine stated that he was going to beat Joe Calzaghe and Mikkel Kessler in The Super Middleweight Division.

He then went on to state that he plans on losing a few pounds and beating Winky Wright and Jermain Taylor in The Middleweight Division.

Some Australians "respect him now" because he has "proven them all wrong" through his victories over fellow Ausralian Boxers Danny Green and Sam Soliman... and also... by the fact that he is now a 2-Time WBA Super Middleweight Champion.

I say again... when Mundine took on 3 World Class Fighters in The Supper Middleweight Division... he was knocked out COLD by Sven Ottke... didn't like that... so he boxed on the outside against Mikkel Kessler and Manny Siaca... knowing that if he got too close... he'd get knocked out again... and Mundine's too scared to be knocked out.

He lost those 2 fights by Unanimous Decision.

So far... he is yet to have any real legitimate victories.

Green and Soliman were just as overrated as he was... and The Australian Boxing Scene at the moment isn't much for starters... and that win over Antwun Echols? He just barely got off a court date... and didn't have the time to train and prepare properly for the fight.

Mundine's shameless self promotion tactics (Rap Music, Video Clips, TV Shows, Celebrity Big Brother etc) are just stupid!

I admit he is a good athlete and a good boxer (and should've stuck with Rugby League)... he is not great... and those 4 NON-AUSTRALIAN Guys that he says he will beat... HE IS DREAMING!

He even stated that he plans on winning World Championships in several other weight divisions... not just Super Middleweight and Middleweight.

Does anybody here think that he can beat the likes of Calzaghe/Kessler/Taylor/Wright?:D

I actually find the Light Heavyweight Division a lot more interesting... it does offer a little but more than The Super Middleweight Division. How would the Super Middleweight Division interest me? This is how...

If Jeff Lacy were to improve his overall boxing skills... get a rematch against Joe Calzaghe... AND WIN!!!

That would get me very interested in The Super Middleweight Division... as a matter of fact... ANYONE... who LEGITIMATELY beats Joe Calzaghe... would get me interested in The Super Middleweight Division! :cheeky4:

In saying... AGAIN... MUNDINE CANNOT BEAT CALZAGHE!:thumbsup:

Lacy has no shot against Calzaghe unless Calzaghe turns 40 overnight.

Haha. I love watching Joe fight but damn he deserves some damn solid power with all that skill. I want to see him get the KO's he deserves, but Hell it really doesn't matter I guess! BRING ON TAYLOR.

Agreed, but I just want to see him get guys out of there sometimes but he just continues beating the hell out of them and never really putting them down. Sorry, I just really wanted him to put Lacy flat on his back.

lacy looks to have a very good chin, plus the fact he was an unbeaten champion going into the fight.

Kessler vs. Calzaghe would be a great fight IMO. I think Kessler has a much better shot than anyone else right now.

lol Kessler has ducked and dodged fights ever since he won the title claiming hes injured... Calzaghe fights Kessler they'll both get injured early on but Joe will pull through cause he has the heart of a champion which is something you cant teach.

Beating Anthony Mundine is certainly no achievement, id like to see how he faired against Lacy though:p

When did Calzaghe show that he has the heart of a champion? I must have missed that. And Lacy is no test. Hes trash.

Ermm.. breaking his hand in the 3rd round and still going the 12 round distance to win by unanimous points decision... id say thats showing pretty good heart:p

So I guess you think that PBF has a heart of a champ too, because he breaks his hands in almost all of his fights.

Yeh:p The damn pain when you first break your hand is friggin hard to bear, they do very well to continue and imo that is true heart.. fighting through pain to be the champ!

It may show guts and it may show that you can tolerate pain. But it dont show the heart of a champ.

no achievment.. u underestimate the man, the man who has no amatuer career and has climbed all the way to number 3 in the world, he will suprise alot of people.

and when u said "i'd like to see how he faired against lacy" were u talkin bout mundine or kessler.. because they both would destroy him.. they can box
