HBO's June 16 "Boxing After Dark" card is not set yet, but the main even is close to being locked up: Lovemore N'dou of Australia will make his first junior welterweight title defense against Paulie Malignaggi at the Mohegan Sun resort in Connecticut. The co-feature remains unsettled. It could involve welterweight phenom Andre Berto, the 2006 ESPN.com prospect of the year, or it could be a junior middleweight fight involving former welterweight champ Vernon Forrest. HBO has already approved potential opponents Carlos Baldomir and Michele Piccirillo, both former 147-pound titlists. If Forrest lands on June 16, Berto would be shifted to May 19 and HBO would air clips of his match on the telecast headlined by middleweight champ Jermain Taylor vs. Cory Spinks. Al Haymon, the adviser to Berto, Forrest, N'dou and Taylor, is working closely with HBO on the matter.
