I don't like that many Thai, Japanese, Chinese films.

Shotgun Stories looks so good.

To each his own. I just get pissed when people receive oscars for remakes like Scorcese for The Departed.
i agree to a certain extent, but remakes are sometimes better then the originals,

for example,

scarface remake (1000 times better)
texas chainsaw massacre (both rubbish but the second one is better)
King Kong (great remake)
dawn of the dead (ok not a great movie but the remake is better)
ocean's 11 (the original was pretty boring)

but then on the other hand when some classics are remade they do spoil it.

like the italian job (the orginal italian job with the old skool minis, with michael cane in the film is a million times better then the remake)

I enjoyed teh new italian job much more, but Im a fan of seth green and mark wahlberg.

King kong was excellent with jack black

Oceans 11 ( remake ) is one of the best films I've ever seen.

And I have to disagree with you guys on the departed movie. Its in my top 5 all time. It's one of the few I would rate 10/10.

I like the remake much better than the original. Also, how could you say Scorcese didn't deserve to win for that movie?
