Manny Pacquiao has decided to stay at lightweight and defend his WBC 135-lb crown after turning down an offer by Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) for a Dec. 6 fight in Las Vegas, lawyer Franklin Gacal said in a statement released early Thursday morning. "I have been informed that Oscar De La Hoya is firm with the 70-30 revenue sharing and won't budge in to the 60-40 split we have counter-offered. I find the offer of GBP unconscionable hence unacceptable. It would have been an honor to fight De La Hoya on his last fight capping a very illustrious boxing career but under the circumstances, the option left is to move on. I have already made specific instructions to my lawyer to start negotiating with Bob Arum for my next fight with any possible opponent at 135 lbs," said Pacquiao. Gacal said what Pacquiao wanted was a fair share of the mega fight and apparently, Oscar De La Hoya is making an offer that he knows is unacceptable," Gacal told fightnews.com.It is certain that Pacquiao will face Humberto Soto of Mexico sometime in November in Las Vegas.

hahahaha. Saw this coming. It's best for the boxing fans. Pacquiao should continue to impress us in fights that make sense and OScar should go out with a challenger around his own size.

Great news. De La Hoya should fight Sugar Shane or Margarito.
Yes he should the question is will he?

Of course he should what was he thinking in the first place is beyond me, fighting a lightweight was a ridiculous notion, and an embarrassing ending...

But this out come leaves me more comfused, what is he really up to, he must have known that it was an unacceptable offer, is he looking for bigger fish ( HOPEFULLY ) or is this his way to weasel out to retirement by saying " Oh the best fighter out there refused to fight me therefore I'm retiring" rather than try to make a fight with our ovious choice.. I'd like to hear some opinions..

Who will Oscar fight now?
He's still debating wether to walk away into the sunset after having made a big deal of this last fight or take a more even a serious challenge and quite possibly a serious ass whooping from the likes of Margarito

Thats what the plan was.
Not really , Oscar wanted 10 ounce gloves and the agreed upon weight was never made official....

BooO...of course Oscar would offer a ridiculous deal like that bc he know he would decline it, nice way to make it seem like pac-man is scared but seems to be the other way around.

Neither are scared. Just Oscar is used to having the biggest share of the purse....even Mayweather made a lot less than De la Hoya.

well now we know where his heart is, is in his pockets not in boxing....

I'm glad it's not gonna happen but I lost a lot of respect for Oscar for trying to fight Pac. I don't think he'll fight Margarito.

That matchup was a joke man.
Me neither, he would have said something by now, first he wanted Hatton then Paquiao then he fought Forves all midgets, he's scare to have to look up to a fighter like Hopkins or Sturn they both kicked his ass...

Thank God, this fight was a mockery
It most certainly was

Something is going on inside his head, it's like he desperatly trying not to even chance going out on a loss....

He could retire and still make millions and millions of dollars with Golden Boy Promotions. But he's still fighting. Figure it out.
