fighters are wuss's now? please, there have been plenty heavyweights since dempsey that would of killed him.
Back then they would fight twice a month, now twice a year. Back then they were tougher. Now if someone gets headbutted or hit low, they cry and cry to the ref. Back then they would hit them back. If you got your nose broken or broke your hand during the fight, you fought on. If you were on queer street, you fought right back, if you were all bloody and couldn't see you fought on. The last guy I saw do that was Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini, and he was in the 80's. Back then it wasn't uncommon at all if you fought the same guy 7 or 8 times. They didn't even start wearing mouth gards until the 20's or 30's.

As much as I want to disagree with that, I can't. 100%

Yes I use cell phones. And yes, I know its 2007, and yes, I watch the fights now. And yes I know what I'm talking about post 1960. I know a lot pre 2000.

good post bill but it still doesnt mean those old fighters would be modern day fights, i just dont think it would happen. YOU SAY THE GUYS ARE tougher becaue they didnt use mouth guards and fight the same guys over and over. i bet some fighters down aday wish they didnt use mouth guards and fought the same guy over and over. Hell i wish i could and i hate my mouthpiece.

Lie comparing apples and oranges.
The top fighters altered their styles/tactics/technique to conserve energy, meet their opponents specific methods etc.... A fighter without a mouthpiece may move more than bang. If a fighter has power but has neglected training/conditioning, he may go for broke and try for the early K.O. The great fighters met the conditions they faced, be it their own physical limitations of the day or external circumstances.
When Ali discovered he could not dance against Foreman all night he improvised the rope-a-dope. The greats rose to the occasion and changed what they had to to win

They complain now if they are fouled, even if its an accident. Back then if you got fouled, you did something worse back, or made sure you hit them right in the face. They didn't let the ref control the fight, they made sure they did.
if you lost a fight you thought you won, you would simply make it a point to KO the guy in the rematch, and if you didn't, and lost again, you wouldn't duck the guy, you fought him till you won or he or you retired.

Right back when boxing was FREE. Nobody wants to watch someone get beat twice in a row and then pay to see a third fight. I'm pretty sure when someone loses and they get a rematch they try to win still today.

Not if they lose twice in a row, after that they duck the person. Also, if the 2 fights were great fights I would pay to see it, and I'm sure many others would too.

If you get beat by the same guy twice (TODAY!!!!!) then you clearly don't have what it takes. Back then the skill level was soooooooooooooo much lower that you always had a shot.
If it was "sooooooooooooooooo much lower" then why is today known as the worst division yet? And why do soooooooooo many guys now-a-days try to copy their styles from back then, just they screw it up?

Bill, my point is this. Take basketball for example. The form of a jumpshot has been modified/altered significantly over time. Baseball...the form for pitchers has completely been revamped. The thing is that with time comes realization and new ways to better improve sport. The same is true with boxing. The science of it has gotten more advanced, and in turn, so have the fighters. I don't dispute a lot of what you are saying just some of it.

Please don't compare those other girl sports to boxing.

Baseball= I have a blister I can't pitch for 6 months but I still get paid
Basketball= I tripped over my own feet so call a foul on him and BTW I have a jammed finger call an ambulance.

Boxing is a tough guy sport well at least it use to be.
Now all the "top" boxers don't want to get scratched. Oh just like the other Delicate sports.
