IMO Julian Jackson and Earnie Shavers are definate top 3 guys.

manny pacquiao, prince naseem hamed, julian jackson, felix trinidad, duran, definently tommy hearns ( maybe number 1 ).
Trinidad and Hamed would be close, Trinidad's left hook was deadly. And for a guy his size, Hamed had unreal power.
Jones Jr ? he did hit hard knocked most people out

rjj was a very underated pucher IMO to but i wouldn't class him as being concussive.

julian jackson could bang, hearl bomber got punk'd big time, prob the best ko ive ever seen...lmao

naz was unbeleivable for his size, he hit like a middleweight.

shavers though, his power is unrivaled!!
macrannelli and valero today are the biggest punchers IMO.
Pipino Cuevas could hit. Leonard said Benitez hit harder than Hearns.
My knowledge doesnt go as far as back as yours bill, but from this generation i would say it would be Trinidad or Hamed.
LOL, I thought I was being modern with guys from the 80's.
jones jr was a p4p puncher, but not the hardest, shavesr probabley hit the hardest of anyone but thats not what p4p is. I'd say prince naseem had the hardest 1 punch that could carry up to at least jr weltweweight. benitez didnt knock duran out in 2 rounds. hearns did. leonard is full of alot of things.

I trust what Leonard says based on 2 things. 1. When he admitted to Hearn's face that Hearns beat him when they fought to a draw. And 2. When he admitted Hagler beat him. He will never admit it to Haglers face though. A lot of it is style. Lots of people said Tyson didn't hit as hard as they expected, or so and so hit harder, but Tyson knocked them out earlier. Its mainly style.
yeah and other people said tyson hit harder than when he got hit by a car. i dont think leonard ever admitted hagler beat him, ive never heard that. i do think hagler beat him. and its easily seen that herans hit harder than benitez.
cant beleive no one said tyson other that rippin ears off he would basically rip guys heads off

I was just going by what Leonard said. I saw Leonard say that hagler won in some interview or documentary on Hagler.

He wasn't the hardest hitting heavyweight, so how could he be the P4P hardest hitter.
Prince Hamed because this is p4p.
Yeh i would say Hamed no.1 because despite all his flaws, he hit hella hard p4p.
Honestly I'm inclined toward Julian Jackson or Alexis Arguello when he was a Featherweight.

Poet
hamed is definently on the top of the list. he had so much leverage.

But Jackson had so much raw power, along with Shavers. If They were trained by Manny steward (who would teach them leverage), then they BETTER not be able to hit you. He turned Hearns from a feather fisted boxer into a hard hitting assasin. All because he tought him leverage. Steward has trained 2 guys with huge rights (Hearns and Lewis), Imagine what he could do with Shavers and Jackson .
