Super featherweight Manny Pacquiao (44-3-2, 35 KOs) took a one-sided twelve round unanimous decision over Marco Antonio Barrera (63-5, 42 KOs) on Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Pacquiao, who previously stopped Barrera four years ago, was again the aggressor and outworked Barrera, who tried to keep the fight tactical. Barrera chose to trade in the fifth, his best round, however, for the most part "Pacman" outgunned the tentative "Baby-faced Assassin." Barrera was deducted a point for hitting after the break in round eleven, a round where Barrera sustained a cut under his right eye. Scores were 118-109, 118-109, 115-112

Well, MAB did better then I thought he would because I didn't think it would go 5 rds. But it is what most people predicted. Hats off to MAB in what should be his last fight!

did you even watch the fight? im not trying to be rude but barrera did better than you thought ? yes he lasted the 12 rounds but my god he stunk up the joint. 99 percent defense and pacquiao just couldnt break through it. That was the worse mab performance ive ever seen and the fight was barely better than winky/bhop. I was disappointed, not in pacquiao, he was there to fight, but in barrera. stay retired please.

Actually no I didn't watch the fight. I was out hanging with my kids. But what I meant was I thought he would have got KO'd. Better then I thought because he actually didn't get KO'd. That is why I didn't pay for the fight was because I knew he wouldn't win and didn't stand a chance. And from what you say, that was a smart move on my part!

Yeah your lucky, the first 2 fights of the evening were awesome bu tthis was by far the 3rd worse fight of the year. I hope marquez fights with pac. Pac didnt look his normal self either, i think he may have some trouble making weight, he came in at 144 pounds.

I dont know about you guys but I enjoyed this fight. Pacquiao wasnt as aggressive as usual as he was probably well aware of Barreras great coutner punching ability and the fact he is a great tactician. Barrera did fight with guts and heart and he did have a few good flurries, but it was evident that he was scared and unwilling to trade with pacquiao. This may not have been the best fight for either boxers, but it was a good fight nonetheless and the fact that Pacquiao battled through dehydration and weight issues the days leading upto the fight didnt make things any better for pacquiao, yet he was still able to compete and fight at an elite level with one of the great boxers in the sport. I believe Pacquiao deserves the p4p title at this point until mayweather is able to convincingly defeat Ricky Hatton.

i haven't scene the fight, but it was that bad? i thought barrera was going to try and box manny being that was his only shot of surviving 12 rounds. so, as opposed to scavenging for the video i guess i should switch to " if i see it, i see it" mode!

So much for making a slugger into a technical fighter. All Barrera did was try and survive, definitely time for him to get out. The undercards were much more entertaining, at least those guys came to fight, and the only thing that made it worth $39.00.

It was obvious after the first 4 rounds that Barrera had no intentions of fighting or pressing the action.

I watched it again and it was a much better fight that i thought. Watching it as a fan for the first time i was disappoointed that it wasnt non stop action and pac didnt get the ko but it was a pretty good fight in its entirety. I didnt have a problem with the scoring at all, i had pac winning every single round , seriously, and thats not bias trust me.

I can't really expect to much from MAB in this stage in his career against what some rate as the P4P best. But I agree he needs to hang up the gloves on what was a hall of Fame career!

Well I lucked out last night and went to a batchelor party. Great times!

I heard that the fight was terrible and wasn't worth the price. I wasn't really planning on buying the card anyways, and now I'm glad I didn't. One of my friends told me that Manny looked sub par. Any truth to that guys?

it was more marcos style that made pac look bad shane, marco kept moving to his left to keep away from pacs streight right and tried to pick him off with jabs and counters.

it wasn't the worst fight ive seen but it wasn't the blood bath i expected.

the other 2 fights involving andrade and luevano were great, especialy the andrade fight, i thought he was going to get stopped early when he was put down but he got up and went straight into a toe 2 toe battle finaly wearing his opponent down with some great in fighting.

That's cool Tommy. I can't stand watching Andrade fight, because he is another statue. I was really just interested in the Barerra fight. I would like to see Pac at 35.

i had it 12 rounds to 0 for pacman. pacman was the one wanting to fight, barrear decided to trade about 3 tiems in the fight and then decided not to do so anymore. Its so stressful being a fan of pacquiao because he gets hit alot at times but i tend to forget thats when he comes on the strongest. Pac said hes going up to 135 and if marquez wants him he'll have to go up as well, i dont see this being a problem seeing how naturally they are both about the same size.
