Malignaggi is no championship material.

For many years I have been watching boxing. But I have seldom seen a fight that aroused my suspicions of a fix like the February bout between Paul Malignaggi and Donald Camarena.

What I remember mostly from the match is how Camarena held his gloves in
front of his face as if he were afraid of getting hit. Often when he did try to throw punches they were wide swings that missed. This is a boxer who came into the fight with a record of sixteen wins and one loss.

Malignaggi is being built up like a local media star. On another website, someone mentioned that in his fights his opponents look like they never wore
boxing gloves.

I don't know what Cotto's record is. But Malignaggi will have to go a long way to impress me favorably. His calling another fighter "mentally
weak" should be totally ignored.

que pela!!

miguel angel cotto's(26-0,22ko's) left hand will be devastating like always k.o. with in 8rds who knows it could be a quick k.o. for cotto,
1)paulie(21-0,5ko's) has no power!!
2)paulie hasn't been with a monster puncher like cotto!!
3)what real fighter has paulie fought?? "ramiro cano"?? "donald camerena"??
4)cotto's not mentally weak, he's a very timid an soft spoken, he'll let talk ur a** off an all the crap anyone has to say, but when that bell rings its woopn some a** time..in the spanish culture u always becareful with the quiet ones these can blow up in ur face!!!
look at cottos last fight wit gianluca bronco a guy that was never k.o.'d or put down, got his world rocked broken jaw an shoulder could not continue..paulie u can run but he can't hide in the ring!!!
i cant wait for saturday!!!
(chavez jr. is goin to be one of the best boxers of all time the way there bringing this kid up the ranks is just right take there time an not rushing things don't want him to look like camacho jr. what a bust he was!! give him some time an u will see what u are waiting for to see some real opponents!!)

At least put him in with other boxers not weekend warriors. Or at least with guys that have similar records not 2/15 and 0 KOs.
Just like his dads first 90 fights or so all chumps.

And as for Camacho jr. that guy must have never seen his father fight (complete apposite) he is terrible he doesn’t move or throw enough punches.

And finally I like Cotto but he is too slow doesn’t have enough head movement and his chin is very questionable. I think his camp knows this and that’s why they haven’t gone after any real big fighters “boxer/puncher” out there.

one more year or so an we should see chavez jr fight some real name fighters dad got him beatn up all the trash buckets first...an camacho jr ur right he tried to be not what his father was...after jr fought jesse james leija his career was done!!
cotto is a lil stiff sometimes but i think he's goin to surprise us this time around..an his chin is pretty tough look at the richard torres fight thats about the only time you've seen cotto in trouble and the shots that hit cotto would have sent any other fighter to the mat for a 10 count, he got rocked twice by richardo...as long as cotto keeps that right hand up he should be all right he has that tendency to pull his right hand away before he fires the left leaving his right side open to good left hand, an tradin wit the another boxer toe to toe is not the best for him because he gets greedy and the hands go down thats about the only weakness i can reflect on...and everybody is to busy chasin mayweather jr for a big money fight...give it some time the big fight could happend before the year's over!!

If he is mentally weak what does that make Malinaggi? Since Cotto stomped his ass I take it Malinaggi is mentally tough enough to get a beat down all 12 rounds. Too bad his damage he inflicts are equivalent to having a pillow fight at a sorority house.

In an exclusive FightBeat.com interview, Paul Malignaggi fires back at
Cotto's comments, and talks about his preparation for the June 10th
bout.

Paulie shouldn't be one to talk. Really.

I mean, I agree that Cotto is mentally weak, but only in that he does stupid things sometimes and gets over his head pretty easily. At least the kid has heart though. That's way more than I can say for PM.

I wouldn't even agree to the statement that he's mentally weak. His career proves otherwise. Just watch the Torres, Judah or the Quintana fight. The two fights he started backpedaling on were fights against a man suspected of using illegal wraps, and Pacquiao who is P4P best in the world.

He was backpedaling against N'Dou and Mosley in the late rounds.

PM VS Cotto was a bad deal for PM. The fight was at 140 and Cotto was having trouble making weight so “they” moved the weight in to 36 HOURS before the fight which in most cases its 24 HOURS which is still garbage since it should 2 hour before the fight BUT anyway PM still came in and fought
BTW Cotto won the fight But the feather fisted PM had Cotto hurt real bad in the 7th round I think and finished the fight with a broken jaw.
Also PM never quit against RH
In my opinion is PM mentally tough? Hell yeahh
and only an @#$!%@#$^ would think other wise!!

Paulie never phased Cotto one bit. The time your talking about I remember Cotto get caught in an exchange off balance, coming back for Paulie directly after it. Cotto has a tendency to tread back when hurt, not come directly back for more.
