PBF Disses Hatton

Although his next opponent is Oscar De La Hoya, WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather has taken aim at IBF junior welter titlist Ricky Hatton, whom he could face down the road. "Ricky Hatton ain't nothing but a fat man. I'm going to punch him in his beer belly," Mayweather told BBC Sport. "He ain't good enough to be my sparring partner....when I retire, I'll get Ricky Hatton to wash my clothes and cut my lawn and buckle my shoes.....I've only seen Ricky Hatton fight one time and that was against Urango and he looked like garbage. All he can do is punch and hold, punch and hold and wrestle."

LOL. I love this quote from Floyd. Id love to see this fight happen too. Floyd would win, but it would be interesting. Apparently Mayweather has noticed the trend that everyone else has noticed, Hattons punch-hold punch-hold combinations.
I do however find it funny that floyd criticizes his holding when he himself does alot of running. How does one clinch a guy that runs, and vica versa?

1- he thinks he could beat him
2- Hatton is a smaller guy at 140
3- Hatton has poor boxing skills
4- Hatton has poor defensive skills
So from Floyds point it’s a good plan to talk about Hatton.

In a sport where guys train this hard and have to battle politics and promoters to get ahead . how sad is it that Folyd can't find a kind word to sell a future fight it seem to me that Floyd is a very insecure little man. by talking about a another guy down like he does he just makes his future win less credible. now as far as I am concern D.L.H is already a hall of fame guy and nobody should question the guys courage period. but I do think that he has a very legit chance in the fight with Floyd but only if Floyd will man up and fight . if Floyd fights Oscar like he fought the first Castillo fight he gets knocked out. if he fight like the second fight he will probably win a close desicion. it is his choice like they say pain is temporary glory is forever. he can chose to fight and even in geting knocked out. I would be the first to give him props. and would defenatly buy the next fight. let all hope that there is a warrior looking for glory in Floyd.I for one doubt it very much!!!!!

But the problem is
What is the definition of glory to the masses in the years to come?
1-is it titles attained
2-is it who did you actually beat; witch doesn’t matter because of the W next to your name.
3-we do it everyday, he is or must have been great because of his record.
The way I see it 50 years from now my grandchildren will make an argument for his great ness just because of his record.
Some of you guys do it now
Like I said before tomorrow is not about who you beat it’s about the record you had.
And Floyd is in the right track to futures greatness.

When you guys say its BS what Floyd is saying to Hatton, you have to keep in mind that this is most likely a fight he wants to setup after Oscar. Many times, this is the kind of stuf that maximizes gate sales, and PPV sales. Whether we think its classless or not, the fact is that people are more inclined to see a fight where they think the fighters dont like one another and really want to beat the hell out of each other. Its all about selling tickets and promotion.

All the stuff that floyd is talking right now leads me to believe that he starting to realize the mess he is in ( fear) and want to try and get in to Oscars head. the fact is Oscar has been in many events like this and knows how to handle himself like a champ ( a credit to the sport) on the other hand you have a guy that in now saying ignorant stuff about Ali,Robinson,Leonard etc. what the hell is he thinking? People don't respect that!!!! they will think he is a fool (I think he is) I hope he really come to fight and not run his mouth. this is why I honestly didn't think Oscar should have allowed this guy to make this kind of money Floyd has not realized yet he is a passanger on this gravy train.

i dont think this has anything to do with future ticket sales. a floyd vs hatton fight would have no problem selling either sideof the pond. floyd to me is just an arogant **** who beleives his own hype, and this is going to be his downfall. we seen it with hamed.

Floyds talents make him a top p4p fighter but his attitude stinks. It doesnt suprise me that he says these things about Hatton, the bloke has even run his mouth off about HOFs like Robinson and Leonard.

He is like a spoilt child who needs attention! imho. Because Oscar is the top market in their fight and all the talk has been about floyd Senior, Oscar, Freddie Roach etc. Floyd Jr is just having a rant to get his name in some headlines and let us know hes still here.
