Within the last twelve months I have been involved in two street fights, nothing I'm proud of just self defense. The first fight resulted in a scafoid fracture in my right hand, the second fight I broke the bone under my pinkie also known as a boxers fracture. My question is why would these bones in my hand keep breaking? I am 28 in good shape and have some experience around a bag.

Both times were closed fist head shots.

any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks

It's very common to break bones(carpals, metacarpals) in your hands in a street fight. Anything can happen in a steetfight, anything, just feel lucky you didn't get a broken orbital or zygo arch, those will put you in the hospital easy, whether it's you or the other guy.
