Marciano wasn't a very deliberate, but would miss a lot of punches. But it was his awesome stamina that kept him ahead of the game. He used to run up hills backwards, and doing punching exercises under water.

Bull****! He fought Don Cockell who was good (the british heavyweight champ) He fought Jersey Joe Walcot (who was in his prime) Archie Moore wasn't washed up at all. Marciano fought Roland LaStarza, Ezzard Charles. He NEVER EVER backed down either, he always fought the guy who challenged him. He had great power, he could take a good punch, and he had relentless stamina/attack.

Marciano fought Roland LaStarza, Ezzard Charles. He NEVER EVER backed down either, he always fought the guy who challenged him. He had great power, he could take a good punch, and he had relentless stamina/attack.

Walcot was not in his prime, and that goes for Moore and Charles. If they didn't come in crutches Marciano wouldn't fight them. LaStarza was rubbish. I have that fight. Anybody with any kind of decent talent troubled Marciano.

I'm just yanking your chain. Rocky Marciano is one of the greatest fighting machines of all time. He beat guys that were better, stronger, faster, he was incredible. I loved the announcers in the old days better too. They actually knew something about boxing. The HBO crew is the worst in history!
