I think Taylor is to big for Ouma. Ouma throws alot of punches & may make it an entertaining fight but I think Taylors size advantage will take effect in the second half of the fight. Also Oumas defense is not very good.

I was impressed with Oumas chin and his will. I think he was out sized and out gunned for this match but he made a good impression on me. As for Taylor I'm not much of a fan. For being so supposedly strong I have yet to see him knock anyone out or down even. I enjoyed the Berto fight more than I did the main fight.

taylor stank again against a guy who is maybe 2 or 3 weightclasses below him, HE'D BETTER STAY AWAY FROM CALZAGHE OR PREPARE FOR INCOMING !!!

I think Taylor should also stay away from Calzaghe. Taylor is smaller & does not need Calzaghe.

Taylor has never been called a big power puncher he is just solid at everything. He has good power, good chin, good stamina , good jab , but not great at any one thing.

He shoulda used the Jab & straight 1,2 alot more last night.

Taylor beat Kasim Whoma, what a bore! And I'm a little tired of HBO referring to Emanuel Stewart as a trainer of champions, that's bull they were champs before he came in to the picture. Let's see him take a nobody and mold a champ. Trainer of champs noway.

Alot of pople are sayin that fight was boring , I didnt think it was that bad. Taylor landed alot of punches & Ouma came forward the entire fight. Not a great fight but not that boring. I have seen worse.

It was boring because it was obvious that Ouma couldn't hurt taylor and also because of open scoring we already knew the winner. Even though we would of known the winner in this case because it was so one sided.

if you look at taylors last last 4 fights he hasnt looked anywhere near world class. he got an old hop who's leg speed and fotwork were just too slow for middle, he fought winky who was smaller (a 154 guy) who bullied him and won the fight by at least 3 rounds, and there was the ouma afair, well all ill say is ouma tried to make the fight and for the smaller guy pushed taylor back all night. lets remember guy's taylor is a massive fighter for 160 and if you watch the ouma fight again you'll see him blowing after 2 rounds where he tried to go for the ko, after the first 2 he only fought for the last minute of the rounds, easy to see he's a fighter who has stamina probs and may even be struggling to make 160. VERY BORING FIGHTER, I THINK HE WON BY 4 ROUNDS.

Name any fighter thats last 4 fights resume is Hopkins twice, Winky & Ouma.

Give him a ****in break. Your boy Calzaghe hasnt fought that kinda oposition in his career.

It is hard to come away 3-0-1 against those fighters yet alone look great.

If Hopkins is so slow/old etc, why is your guy Calzaghe callin him out :dunno:

Taylor is not P4P #1 or the most exciting fighter in the world but he is champ & he wins so give him a break.

nobody fights the best anymore it's all about the dollar bill! Where have all the good fighters gone, they either have there head up there a** or they are so badly missed managed with there padded records. I know where they are in the amateur ranks where kids fight for pride and love of the sport.

the word there is probable, mora and taylor aint signed to fight yet so dont get this **** twisted, for all we know taylor could pick another 154 guy for his next defence.

now onto calzaghe v manfredo, the u.s public has not and will never give calzaghe the respect he deserves, i seen it in the days when you had rjj and toney and benn and eubanck now all these guy's primed at 167 toney and rjj would have got ktfo buy both these dudes, now calzaghe on the other hand is trying to fight the top fighters from the u.s although we know there aint any, so the best name who will get in with him is manfredo who after losing a disputed split decision to mora in there second fight which i think he won with the majority of boxing has lept above mora in reputation. if you,ve ever seen kessler fight you'll know why calzaghe wont fight him just now he just aint in joe's league period !!!

I thought the fight was just "ok". I expected more from Taylor stepping down in competition (compared to his last few fights) to an opponent that stepped UP in weight. I was very dissapointed with his performance. He was very sloppy and was tired for the remaining 10 rounds after punching himself out trying to KO Ouma in the first 2.
He didnt utilize his size and length, and didnt move well at all. He did hit ouma with alot of 1-2's through the night, a credit to ouma's good chin, but failed to utilize his strong jab properly. He let the smaller, weaker man back him up and into the ropes all night long. I know Winky was sitting at home licking his chops to get in there with this guy again and wondering, AGAIN, how the hell he was scored with a draw in the last fight.
I agree that Jermaine stepping up for Calazaghe could be a huge mistake. Hell be fighting a guy with better boxing skills at a higher weight class. Its a recipe for disaster. I give Jermaine credit for fighting great opposition, but his first Hopkins fight and the Winky fight, I thought he lost.

I disagree. I think that after the complete dismantling of Jeff Lacy, the American public and boxing critics alike, now have a lot of respect for the talent of Joe Calzaghe. He just hasnt fought the kind of opposition that some of the big American names have fought, and hasnt had much exposure with the American boxing public. The skills are there, and hes starting to get reckognition. I think that you will see him fighting the top competition out there very soon.

your smiyles may be your only saving grace erik, before posting this garbage at least watch these guy's fight manfredo has developed into a fully blown 168 guy, his last 2 fights have seen him fight and beat 2 ranked guy's in spina and pemberton AT 168 to push him into title contension.

I dont like Calzaghe but I do think he is the top guy at Supermiddle. So you can say he doesnt get the respect he deserves but I have him 1 at Super middle. I dont think Supermiddle is loaded with talent either.

I have about 20 of Kesslers fights on DVD so I have seen him fight. I think he is probably a solid #2 atSuper Middle. Both fighters have a few flaws & it would be a huge fight at Supermiddleweight.

There are alot of other good fighters at Super middle but they need bit more experience before they get in with Calzaghe. Carl Froch,Allan Green, Denis Inkin are some good prospects about a year away from big fights.

If all else fails move up like every other fighter does. Antonio Tarver,Clinton Woods,Glen Johnson,Roy Jones Jr,Tomasz Adamek , Chhad dawson are all name fighters he could fight at light heavy or maybe even a catch weight.
