Sturm over Castillejo

963 Views 11 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  SugarShane
Middleweight Felix Sturm (27-2, 12 KOs) became a three-time world champion on Saturday night, regaining the WBA belt via twelve round unanimous decision against reigning titlist Javier Castillejo (61-7, KOs) at the König-Pilsener-Arena in Oberhausen, Germany. Castillejo, who had stopped Sturm in their previous fight, again tried to be aggressive, but Sturm's movement, clean punching and good defense allowed him to pile up the rounds, then withstand a late Castillejo surge to win by scores of 116-112, 116-112, 115-113.

i just want to see them unified, i eventualy see pantera holding them all when he gets his chance though.
We shall see about the unification. Doesnt happen much in the boxing world with all the bs. I truly believe Taylor fights Calzaghe in the not too distant future. Or at least a move up in weight for him. His body says super middle weight or possibly even lt heavyweight at some point in his career.

taylors a bull at 160, i think the 18 months we'll see him forced to move.

I totally agree. I really dont believe it will even be that long. Manny Steward may have that course in mind for him to stay at MW awhile, but i think the move will come sooner rather than later.
It needs to come asap.

Why does it need to come ASAP? You have a hidden agenda behind this? I said sooner rather than later. Im sure he will get at least a couple more fights in at MW:)
Oh yea I know he will. He will fight spinks then the pavlik/miranda winner and move up for Calzaghe. I just want him to fight Joe.
The move up in weight class is coming. His body wont allow him to stay at middle weight forever. Probably not even that much longer. Take care of his obligations then make the move up in weight class in the next year. Dont bet on 2007 though.
Nope not 2007 at all. He wont even fight Calzaghe until maybe March of 08.
