I will start us out by naming all of the obvious ones. Eddie Futch, Ray Arcel, Angelo Dundee, Emanuel Steward, and Charlie Goldman. Who else was great, maybe not even heard of much anymore?

The only reason Futch would enter the consciousness of a Duran/Arcel/Brown fan was because in January of 1980 the Eddie Futch trained welterweight hopeful Joseph Nsubuga fought Duran. Nsubuga was bigger, and while his strength lasted, stronger. He looked good, moved well, countered Duran very well and landed some really good shots.

This is how the Arcel/Brown trained Duran handled the Futch trained Nsubuga. In the 2nd round Duran pushed him to the floor with complete contempt. In the 3rd round Duran belted the brown stuff out of him. In the 4th round Nsubuga made love to the canvas and Duran was done.

Good night Mr Futch but it was a forgettable night. Stick to the heavyweights instead.
