The “Best Fighter” Poll in the April 2007 edition of The Ring contained a serious oversight. The poll asked 10 boxing experts to list the top 10 fighters, pound-for-pound, at the end of 2006. Marco Antonio Barrera, who finished in sixth place, was inadvertently omitted from our list of the top-10 finishers. The final tally should have read as follows:

2. Manny Pacquiao—129
3. Winky Wright—84
4. Jermain Taylor—61
5. Joe Calzaghe—49
6. Marco Antonio Barrera—32
7. Rafael Marquez—28
8. Ricky Hatton—23
9. Shane Mosley—20
10. Jose Luis Castillo—19

I see that Hatton and Mosely are 8 and 9 on the P4P list. I admit I would like to see that fight happen at 147 sometime at the end of the year.

But you have to admit Taylor and Mosely both just came off of a very good year. Thats why they made the list.

Taylor had a good year? are you serious? Taylor barely got by Winky I feel he lost but he got the win.Uma walked him aroud the ring his lack of power the big difference in the fight he looked to me like a guy that dind't want to fight a stronger opponent infront of him would make him quit no problem. if you call that a good year then yes he did have a good year.

Taylor fought good competition. His fight with Ouma was not *that* bad. Jermaine was trying for a knockout in that fight and shot his load in the fist half of the fight trying to do that. Thats why the action wasnt as good for the second half of the fight. As for the Winky fight, I thought it was a great fight. I also thought Winky won, but by the slimmest of margins. Taylor deserves to be on the list with the resume he has compiled over the last 2 1/2 years. To say he doesnt belong in the top 20 is asinine. He certainly belongs in the top 10 at this time. The one that I dont get on there is Castillo. There are a few that should be higher than him in my opinion.

come on taylor should be 2-2 for his last 4 fights. he blew his load inthe first round against ouma. i will say the fights with hop and winky were extremly close though. i had hop winning by 2 and winky by 3. if these fights had been scored corectly taylor wouldn't been considered a p4p fighter so thats why i dont rate him p4p. when miranda gets past green we will see taylor get exposed in my opinion.

what asinine!!! and you question Castillo he has been in there with all the best and imho the fight of the decade against Corrales maybe you missed it. Taylor just gets by and guys like you give him a pass every time Hop twice and then Winky. in the Uma fight he actually won but sertanly not impressive. kind of like Oscar vs Sturm fight just ugly!!
