The usual names for the great heavyweight jabs are Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, Lennox Lewis, Sonny Liston and Joe Louis. But some guys that are rarely mentioned that had decent jabs are Max Schmelling, Max Baer (when he used it), Tim Witherspoon, Greg Page, and Ken Norton. They all had very good jabs. Joe Frazier had a good double jab to the body, and George Foreman would sort of push his into your face, thus breaking your nose by shoving it with a fist. Baer's jab would snap your head back. Schmellings jab would just hurt, and Norton's jab would break you out of your rythm and timing. Witherspoon and Page did the same as Norton's jab, just their's were slightly quicker and more effective.

LOL. It will be better once je stops pecking at people with it from 6 inches away, or once he gets on steroids. IMO Holmes, Ali, and Liston's jab's are in a class of their own. Well, maybe not Ali's, his was only very fast, but, Holmes and Liston's, those were very unique and one of a kind.

i thought lewis had a beter jab than both, it was more dominating than holmes but not quite as fast, it packed more pop though.

dr steelhammers jab looks to have the best qualitys from all those guys jabs.

Lewis's jab wasn't more dominating, and packed the same amount of pop as Holmes's. Larry won about 60% of his fights with only his jab. He controlled fights with just his jab. He even knocked a guy out with a jab. His jab would cut you up, hurt you, and make you think twice about comming in. It was also lightning fast, very near as fast as Ali's. Wlad's jab is about 2 steps above Norton and Page's jab, but about 3 steps below Holmes's, Lewis's, Liston's, and Ali's jabs. It is good and all, but he doesn't win fights with only his jab, nor does he knock anyone out with it.

I like Holyfields double-jab. Ali used 2 jabs. He had the powerful jab that he stepped into to stand your head up for his right hand. He then had the annoying jab that he used while back pedaling. I think that he tried to cut people with the annoying jab.

Just for the record, Chuvalo said that Ali's jab wasn't that powerful, and didn't hurt that much, and you saw it coming, but it was so quick you couldn't do anything about it.

Evander Holyfield's. It was his quiet weapon. Most of the counter-right hands he was famous for where set up by his jab.
