the returning klitschko has enraged sam peter by being alowed to fight oleg maskaev, peter has said that he aint realy a champion and should have anounced his return before he beat james toney, he then went on to say that the only reason klitschko had the title was because lewis retired. peter then added that they've tried to bribe him to move aside but said he wants to ko maskaev for the title then he'll ko both klitscko's on the same night.

this is good stuff finaly a bit of entertainment in the hw division. :thumbsup:

yeah peter more than deserves his shot i think he beat toney in both those fights.

It is bull**** & Vitali is only coming back because he sees a smaller guy he thinks he can beat as champ.

According to the rules of the WBC, Klitschko is allowed a title opportunity due to his status as a former champion. WBC Rule 1.21 concerning championship defense obligations outlines that a champion must defend their title “either in a voluntary or mandatory defense” against a variety of potential opponents, which includes “former or retired world champion (upon majority vote of the Board of Governors)." The WBC Board of Governors has approved a title shot for Klitschko against Maskaev.

Either way Oleg should beat Vitali,his 2 yr layoff will hurt despite the lackluster Oleg.. The shame in all of this is that it will take forever for a real champ to emerge.

Anyway, it should be interesting to see this. Not-so-good Maskaev v. good, but just returning Vitali.

If I were Vitali I would probably start out slower with some lesser opponents to get back into boxing. But hey, what do I know. Maybe he really is that good, still.

Ok it’s a rule.
But a peter earned the right to fight for the WBC title. That said vitali should fight the winner of this fight (Oleg VS peter).

no way in hell, vitali was clearly the best hw when he retired, its good to see the best hw in the world on top and vitali was by an absolute street.
