I want to start training to do some amature boxing. Always wanted to do it and I think it's a good time to start.

I'm an avid weightlifter who does light cardio a couple days a week and lifts 5 days a week. My goals in my weight training have always been size, strength, and definition.

I understand that boxing is much different.
What I'm trying to ask is:
Can I still lift to the degree I am now and train successfully for an amature career?

if you want to practice boxing for twice a week with no meening to competition, just to be in a good shape - no problem.
if you want to be a competitive boxer with a physical qualityies of body builder, the answer is definitly no. you will become to be a live boxing bag !!!

Bag work, etc is great cardio. I definetly prefer it to running on the treadmill for cardio.

Bodybuilding is priority, and I suppose if I can't do both.... I'll box for fun and cardio.
