Hey guys, I'm from Mississippi where boxing gyms are kind of hard to come by. I'm been independently training for a couple of months but am having trouble finding anywhere to sanction amateur fights. I've always been told that I have a good boxing build (20 yrs old, 5'11", 133lbs, 73" reach ) and am very anxious to get in the ring. Any help to get me in the ring would be greatly appreciated.
im in mississippi and im not a boxer but if i were you i would contact your nearest gym. I dont know whats in the phone book but if you google it you can find a few gyms in mississippi. What part are you from?
I would check for boxing associations in your area first. Then I would check the YMCA ,some times they will have a trainer there who knows boxing, then I would check local colleges some times they will have a coach that knows boxing. and lastly I would check out if you have any armed forces bases near you. They usually have guys on boxing teams especially the Marines. The Corps loves boxing.....good luck
